Chris Hagenow contracted with me last Fall to complete piping and install for two downspouts to be buried, dig up of an invasive plant and rebuilding of two retaining walls. The only completed work is the buried downspouts. $28,000 was paid, much of it upfront when Chris asked me to pay more of the estimated price even though the work was not done. BIG warning sign but I paid him $28,000 out of the full estimated price of $32,000. I am not the kind of person to write negative reviews unless warranted. In this case, it is warranted. Think carefully before contracting him to do any Hardscaping work for you. At this point I will need to call in and hire a hard/landscaper to complete my retaining walls and remove the invasive from my yard and, despite allegedly calculating my refund, I firmly believe I will have to sue to see any refund. For months there was constant promise to come and work and multiple excuses as to why he couldn’t come. The areas where the invasive plant grows are not sufficiently dug up nor is the dirt removed off property. The caps on the retaining wall are not installed. The front retaining wall is not finished and the stone wall in the front of the house that he moved is in complete disarray with several pavers damaged. It will cost me a fair bit to complete the work and clean everything up. The whole experience with him has been very disappointing and stressful.

When we were ready for pickup, he provided same-day service. The level of customer service was exceptional, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be working with him again in the future!

And was out there the same day to give me an estimate later that week his team was installing the patio and did an amazing job.
