HGM Industries is a Groveland roofing contractor run by owner Louis Vazquez, working mostly on asphalt shingle strip-and-replace jobs and small carpentry repairs — porch railings, steps, supports — rather than the kitchen and bathroom remodeling BuildZoom's generic service chips suggest. Roughly half its permits on file are in Marblehead. The written record is short and mixed. In September 2022, a customer described the company as reliable and prompt, doing an asphalt shingle repair at a fair price. But in June 2025, a homeowner reported a tile-roofing job that was never finished — after months of delays, the materials sitting on the roof blew off into neighboring yards, and a deposit the company promised back, minus $500, was never returned. That reviewer also noted the company has both positive and negative reviews on other sites. A separate 2022 permit record shows a similar pattern: a residential carpentry repair job at the same Marblehead address as a completed commercial filing is marked suspended rather than finished. On the credential side, its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (183748) is active, issued in November 2025. BuildZoom's SCORE of 87 is a permit-count ranking, not a customer-satisfaction figure, and BuildZoom itself notes the company doesn't rank in the top half of Massachusetts contractors. Given the unfinished-job complaint and the suspended permit, get a clear payment and completion schedule in writing, and check references for any recent roofing work before signing a deposit over.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Hgm Industries Inc. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.

Roof. My roofing project was plagued with delays and ultimately it was never completed. My first experience with this company was great and aligned with the other positive reviews you see online, however, the second experience is exactly like the negative reviews you find online. After finally giving up on the job being completed, I asked for the materials to be taken down off my roof, where they had been sitting for months. This was actually the final straw as roofing materials had off my roof and out into the neighborhood. HGM came out to retrieve what had flown into the nearby yards. I requested for my deposit to be returned. HGM said they'd I return my deposit, minus $500, but they never did.
