High Tech Dormer, based in Medford, is built around a narrow specialty: shed dormer construction using what BBB describes as a patented roof-raising method for adding space to a house. The Massachusetts corporation has been around since 1987, led today by president Robert Terenzoni with about six employees, and carries an A+ BBB letter grade (though it isn't BBB-accredited). Reviews on file describe full-scope addition work — dormer and roof framing, replacement windows, siding, trim carpentry and entryways — with customers saying the crew was easy to work with. A February 2026 Reddit thread in r/ArlingtonMA adds a similar note: a homeowner who hired the company for an addition (bringing in a separate firm to finish the interior) said the experience went well, though flagged that the company books pretty far out. BuildZoom's permit history lists 81 projects for the company, including two in the past two years — one in the $20k-$50k range, one between $100k and $250k — but flags that its only license on file, an electrician's license, expired back in 2001 and was still lapsed when BuildZoom rechecked it in mid-2026. Worth confirming current licensing directly before signing, and given the lead-time note, plan for a longer wait to get on the schedule.
“We worked with hitech dorms who partnered with another company to finish the interior. They book pretty far out though.”
Hi-Tech dormer did extensive work on my house including framing a shed dormer, building a totally new roof and rafters, framing new stairway, window replacement, re-siding the exterior with REMOVEDand redoing trim, and building a new covered entry. The crew really did outstanding work and was a pleasure to work with.
