Despite showing up here under a plumbing listing, and holding an active Massachusetts plumbing license (4770-PL-C) verified against the state registry, almost none of the reviews describe plumbing work; the jobs people write about are installs. On Google, 23 reviews in the last six months run well above 4 stars, and a pattern repeats: a specific installer gets named and credited. Dennis put in a storm door, "very fast and efficient." Eric and Lance were singled out for a carpet job. On another visit, Renee handled the scheduling while Jay did the install, and the customer wrote directly to thank them both. Across more than a dozen flooring and carpet jobs, the crews are consistently described as on time, professional, and careful about cleanup. The friction shows up around the install, not during it. One customer whose flooring installers did the job well still said Home Depot "had no control over ordering and delivery of the product" and wouldn't book a renovation through it again. Another liked the install but got stuck for weeks on a broken payment system after a coupon wouldn't process. A gate job took nearly a month past the payment date just to get scheduled. Separately, a sharper complaint says an HVAC visit — through a partner the reviewer names as ARS — recommended a full air conditioner replacement that the reviewer, a registered architect, felt was unnecessary and pushed hard. This fits a homeowner ordering a specific, one-off install — carpet, a storm door, a gate — where the crew that shows up has a track record of clean, on-time work. Before booking, get the order and delivery timeline in writing, and if a big-ticket repair or replacement gets recommended on-site, get a second opinion before signing off.

    ARS is a Terrible company, who suggested complete replacement of my a/c system when in fact it was working perfectly and there was a mains electric earthing problem they didn’t identify. A mixture of bad analysis and hard sales. Felt like a poor car dealership. I’m a registered Architect

    Unfortunately our experience was one issue after another. The only bright spot was the installation. The two men that did the installation did an excellent job and the floor look wonderful. Home Depot on the other hand had no control over ordering and delivery of the product. One issue after another. The only bright spot was “Kate” in the Hyannis Ma store who did her best to straighten out one problem after another. We will not use Home Depot for any future renovations of our house.
