Water through the ceiling, fire in the kitchen, asbestos under the floor tiles: those are the calls Houzpital takes. Its website lists water and fire damage restoration, mold remediation, asbestos removal, biohazard cleanup and construction services. The company says it has been in business 30 years and offers 24/7 emergency service. A newbritainherald.com story carries the headline "Atlantic Property Restoration re-brands as Houzpital." On Google it holds 4.7 stars from 128 ratings. A customer said a supervisor was at the house within 45 minutes of the call, and 30 minutes later a crew of two men delivered a dehumidifier and fan to dry out a laundry room dripping from an ice dam. A customer with water damage said Houzpital was at the home within half an hour and handled everything with the insurance company. A 2026 customer whose sunroom roof was smashed by an ice dam said the company mitigated the damage that same evening, in the dark and rain. The rebuild after the damage is part of the job too. A customer said Houzpital handled an asbestos abatement and a new roof on their house, with Gabby, the project manager, in constant communication. Trinity Parish in Wethersfield, CT, had floor tile under two removed pews abated for asbestos, and its reviewer wrote that the area was well contained and cleaned well at the end. A customer whose kitchen was damaged by an upstairs bathroom leak said Gabby helped them through it and that the finished kitchen is beautiful and functional. The complaints are serious. A customer said a new roof from the company was failing less than a year after install and had caused water damage inside the home, and that an outside contractor noted multiple failures. That customer later wrote that parts of the build-out failed inspection and that they threw the contractor off the job site. A customer said the company demolished their bathroom and kitchen after a leak, communication became extremely poor, and the company then left the job. A customer said the company abandoned the job halfway through and left a tile it damaged unrepaired. A 2026 customer said workers left a week after a pipe-burst mitigation and never came back, and that Houzpital still had half a house worth of their stored property. A 2026 customer said bathroom walls painted with no primer looked like they were burning off a year later. Its BBB grade is B, and the BBB lists five complaints.
“Atlantic Property Restoration re-brands as Houzpital”
Continued update. Less than one year in after install of a new roof from this company it is failing and has caused water damage inside the home. We have brought in an outside contractor to inspect their work and he has noted multiple failures. This makes every part of the Reconstruction process of my home performed by this company has had major failures and issues. Instead of addressing these failures or sending out a team to confer the other contractors report they have instead threatened legal action against me. Update:6 mnths later. Things have progressively gotten worse. We had to throw this contractor off of our job site due to incredibly poor craftsmanship and constant lying. Work they said they have done was never done and parts of our build out failed inspection due to this. They have been rude and incredibly hard to work with to resolve the issues. They have continuously added line items of work they did not do to our property and tools that were never on our property confirmed via security camera. They will not repair damage that they have cost to my house and has been documented by multiple sources. Please stay far away from this company if you value your home, respect, or any true craftsmanship. This is the Dollar Store of contractors. 6 months and six attempts to drywall a small room and in a total failure and they will not pay for the removal of their poor drywall job. These must be fake or bought reviews. My experince is horrible and ongoing with Houzpital. They demoed my house and have not done any work for two months. My family is displaced from their poor project managment. They do respond to emails or calls. They ignore your questions and have been under prepared or not prepared for at all for every meeting I have had with them. I'm stuck with them until this project is done but if I were you I would stay far far away.
All the Houzpital employees have made the process of our abatement of removing asbestos and new roof on our house less stressful. Gabby was always in constant communication with both my wife and I on the jobs being done day after day. The guys worked from the early morning hours and literally left when it was dark out. I honestly don’t think they ever stopped to take lunch honestly. They blew us away. Every single employee we talked to was extremely pleasant easy to communicate with. The whole crew was a delight to have working on our renovations and the work they did was beautifully done. I can’t wait to recommend them to people we know it’s so hard to find hard workers and very punctual workers at that. Thank you Gabby the project manager ( miracle worker) she really is the magic behind it all she was always available to talk and so pleasant at that! I can’t wait to use you guys again in the future!
We honestly couldn’t be happier with our kitchen! Water damage in the kitchen caused by an upstairs bathroom leak turned into a much bigger project than we ever planned, and we are thankful Gabby was the person helping us through it. Now that it’s finally finished and we’ve been living in it, I can say that every little detail Gabby helped with makes sense and works well for our family. It’s beautiful and functional, which was really important to us. She had such a great vision for the space and was so easy to work with throughout the whole process.
Let me begin, with saying do not go anywhere else for your restoration needs. Everyone in this company in every role is absolutely incredible. If I listed everyone to thank I would have to list the entire company to some capacity, with the care and kindness they did with our items from the beginning, the design, reconstruction, the entire fire restoration process. Every single worker, along with the professional and kind communication. From the very beginning of our fire restoration journey to the very end, Houzpital went above and beyond in ways that are hard to put into words. It is rare to find this level of detail and kindness. From day one, we never felt like just another customer or another project. We felt genuinely cared for, heard, supported, and treated like family. Having them to trust every step of the way made a difference that is priceless. The professionalism, compassion, communication, and willingness to go the extra mile throughout every step of the process meant more to us than they probably realize. I will always recommend this company for any restoration job to anyone I truly care about- because you will be treated like family. We could not recommend Houzpital highly enough. If you ever find yourself needing restoration services, I would recommend them without hesitation. Their level of care and dedication is truly something special. Thank you, Houzpital, for everything you did for our family. We will never forget it.
Our Church's desire is to be welcoming to all ! Often children and parents have a challenging time with the "wiggles and giggles" during the service. So we decided to provide a "Pray-ground" for young children and their caregivers. This is a space for both wiggling and worshipping together as family and with the broader community. We decided to remove 2 pews in order to make this space. In doing so, the age of the church (1874) indicated that the tile on the floor were probably asbestos. Hence, we needed an Asbestos Abatement done. We were encouraged to engage Houzpital to do this work. All work was done in a timely manner. Everyone, I mean Everyone, with whom I spoke, emailed, and engaged (at least 7 or 8 individuals) were highly professional, courteous, cautious, exact and task focused. The area was well contained during the process and cleaned well at the end. I could not have asked for a better experience and outcome. We are filled with gratitude for all involved in this project as well as the final outcome. Rebecca on behalf of Trinity Parish (Episcopal), Wethersfield, CT.
