Hyde's Painting is a one-owner interior and exterior painting operation run by Alicia Hyde out of Goffstown, New Hampshire, formed as an LLC in November 2020 according to its Better Business Bureau file. Reviews from 2021 into 2022 describe a small crew doing detailed interior work — custom wainscotting, a kitchen, an entryway and office space — and exterior jobs like repainting a home's new front steps and railing. That early run of five-star reviews on Google, HomeAdvisor and Angi consistently praised Alicia's communication, punctuality and clean finish work. But starting in 2023 the written record changes sharply: four separate Google reviewers, a Better Business Bureau complainant, and a September 2023 review that appears on both HomeAdvisor and Angi all describe the same sequence — a deposit paid toward a painting job, then the company going quiet and never starting or finishing the work. One 2023 Better Business Bureau review says a $5,530 deposit was taken for a Grantham, NH job the owner never returned to finish; the HomeAdvisor/Angi review describes an $8,500 quote, a $1,000 deposit paid in April, and no work ever begun despite months of follow-up texts. The most recent account on file, a March 2024 Google review, reports the writer took the company to small-claims court over an unreturned deposit and says the judge ruled in their favor. Better Business Bureau grades the company B- because it never responded to a complaint filed against it. Anyone considering Hyde's Painting for interior or exterior work should read the 2023–2024 reviews closely and get a firm start date and deposit terms in writing before paying anything toward a job.
She takes your $ and does not fulfill the contract. She has $5000 of ours. She just vanished. I had the Police look for her, got the District Attorney of NH look into the matter. Now I'm taking her to Small Claims Court. The Judge in my case has ruled in my favor. Next comes the Sheriff.I am not giving up. She is stealing from the people of NH. This is a terrible person, she deserves jail time.
DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!! We are so so disappointed and upset in this person and business. The took $2100 from us, never did the paint work and stopped responding to our texts and calls. We trusted them with several projects in the past and something has really changed. Please do not give them any money in advance they can not be trusted. It’s sad that someone would do this to anyone never mind to a family of three young kids right before Christmas.
THIS WOMAN IS A FRAUD AND STEALS FROM THE DISABLED-DO NOT HIRE HER!!! I, a resident of Newport, NH, hired Alicia several times earlier this year for some interior painting (several rooms inside my house); the jobs were done well, so I decided to hire her to paint the exterior. I gave her a cheque for a $6000 deposit in April, and the painting was to be completed no later than Labor Day. Several times over the summer, Alicia made appointments to come to my house, & never showed up. I was provided with a handful of excuses, & promises that the job would be completed. The last time Alicia made an appointment with me, I was ghosted altogether. I texted her and gave her a chance to return my deposit, but my text was never answered. Now I'm out $6k, and I'll still have to hire someone else for this job, as painting the exterior is a requirement for my home insurance (& it was supposed to be completed by a certain time, which likely won't happen now). This is a job I absolutely cannot do myself; I have Lupus & Fibromyalgia, currently cannot work, and I have absolutely no income of any kind at the moment (I'm living on savings)-There is no way I can make this $6000 back anytime in the near future. Also, I am not the only person she's done this to-I have found other negative reviews from folks online that she's ripped off for hefty deposits. Again-DO NOT HIRE HER!!!!
Takes deposits and doesn't complete work. When confronted either doesn't answer or comes up with excuses. This has been the instance more than once. I highly caution anyone who is considering using this "business"
Alicia Hyde quoted a price of $8000 to paint our house after viewing it. She requested a deposit of half down. My husband said no way and gave her a deposit of $1000. Which she accepted in April. She said that she would start fhouse painting in June. We purchased the paint she recommended (Benjamin Moore). She never showed up. We didn’t hear from her. My husband texted asking when she would start and heard nothing. I texted her in July asking when she expected to begin painting. Her response was that she had had pneumonia and I was told she would start sometime in August. At the end of August my husband texted her to get in touch with me. She didn’t. I attempted to contact her, but was unable to reach her via text or via Facebook. However, My husband was able to text her. He told her that we no longer trust her and to please return our money. Again, no response. We are looking for swift resolution of the return of our $1000
