Nineteen homeowners have written about Iannelli Custom Contracting since 2022, and every one of them gave it five stars — an unusually clean run for a small firm doing structural work. David Iannelli runs the business out of 12 Manning St in Wilmington. BBB shows the LLC was started in November 2017 and lists four employees, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 193416, is active. The company describes itself as carpentry-led, specializing in high-end finish work and custom design, and also offering remodels and additions, painting, and property maintenance. The accounts split roughly between finish carpentry and openings — windows and doors. In a December 2025 review a homeowner described a large structural ceiling update in the middle of an occupied house, taken from demolition through finishing in a matter of days and kept contained to a small area. A 2023 client described removing a french door and ten feet of load-bearing wall and replacing it with a sixteen-foot wall of glass including a seven-foot slider, and credited Dave with catching red flags on the engineer the window manufacturer had recommended. Another 2023 review described the crew demoing a neglected 1980s condo down to the studs and rebuilding it — insulation, drywall, flooring, kitchen cabinets, doors and trim, two pocket doors and paint — while coordinating with the plumber, electrician and tile installers. Customers writing in 2022 and 2023 said Andersen Windows referred them or recommended the company as a certified Andersen installer. Money and schedule come up repeatedly: a September 2022 porch restoration came in under budget, a July 2022 repeat client said the job stayed on schedule and on budget and that the crew replaced out-of-plumb porch posts they found along the way, and a February 2023 reviewer called the pricing on a four-window, two-door and interior-painting package quite reasonable. Two things to sort out before calling. The listed service area runs the inner suburbs north and west of Boston — Cambridge, Somerville, Arlington, Lexington, Newton, Waltham — so confirm they come to your town. And the credentials are stated inconsistently: Houzz lists a BBB Accredited Business award, while the BBB profile itself says the business is not accredited, though it carries an A+ rating there. Houzz also lists Lead Safe Certified Contractor and BPI Building Analyst Professional, and the company's own site states a Phius Certified Builder credential. For finish carpentry, built-ins, decks and fencing, or window and door replacement in an older house, this is a well-documented, registry-verified small crew — worth a call if you sit inside its stated coverage.
David and his team really went the extra mile for us. Our ceiling needed a large structural update in the center of our house, which felt risky to do while we were living and working 24/7 in that space. The Iannelli team executed every step from demolition through finishing with surgical precision. They kept the entire project completely contained in a small space, worked around our schedule so our lives were not disrupted, and finished in a matter of days. They were also really nice so it wasn't annoying having them around. We're also really pleased with how the project turned out. While it was a damage repair/mitigation project, it looks great and has made our space look and feel much better. We were especially pleased that the team saved and re-used the trim that divided the affected rooms, keeping the look consistent and keeping our costs down. That level of attention to detail when the main focus was installing a massive new beam across our house was super impressive. We'll definitely be coming back to Iannelli Custom Contracting for any new projects, and highly recommend them!
David and his workers did a beautiful job installing a new picture window for our home. From the detail work on measuring and meticulous work on install we felt comfortable. The work done was neat, careful and precise from what we could see and care was paid to not damage anything in the house as they worked. We had asked for the window to match our existing window trims inside and out and they did a perfect job. The new window is beautiful and as an Andersen Installer combined with the care in the work they did we felt confidence in the process.
Beautiful work. Clean and respectful crew.
Dave and his brother have done numerous projects (a closet buildout, built-in shelving, and a difficult front door installation) for us. Their precision, skill, and attention to detail are outstanding. I look forward to working with them again on a bigger construction project.
The Iannelli team is amazing! They do great work and are wonderful to work with.
