Iannelli Custom Contracting

A 2025 Reddit thread in r/Somerville put it plainly: a good reliable GC is tough to come by — and the commenter's pick was Iannelli Custom Contracting, which had been the GC on their Davis Square store. In a June 2025 r/medfordma thread, another commenter called Iannelli Custom Contracting excellent. The company works out of 12 Manning St in Wilmington and describes itself as carpentry-led, specializing in high-end finish work and custom design alongside remodels, additions and painting. Most of what reviewers describe is exacting work inside houses people are still living in. A December 2025 customer had a large structural update done to the ceiling in the middle of their house while living and working in that space around the clock, and said the crew took it from demolition through finishing. Another the same month described a new picture window — careful measuring, a neat and precise install. A July 2024 reviewer said the team evaluated and resolved an issue another provider had failed to fix after three attempts. The custom pieces come up again and again. A July 2022 customer described a walk-in closet and headboard that included a barn door built from reclaimed wood; another that same month listed jobs running from a shed restoration to a backyard overhaul with fencing and a designed deck. In 2024 a customer wrote about a closet buildout, built-in shelving and a difficult front door installation done by Dave and his brother. Windows and doors are a steady line too: a 2023 reviewer said the company came recommended to them as Andersen Windows installers and that in 2022 it replaced four windows, a sliding door, a front and storm door, and handled interior painting. Houzz shows six projects around the inner suburbs — an Ipe fence in Cambridge, an Ipe deck in Lexington, a cedar potting shed in Arlington. BBB grades the business A+ and lists David Iannelli as owner with four employees and a start date of 11/1/2017, and Google carries 20 ratings averaging 5.0 across 19 written reviews from 2022 to 2025. For finish carpentry, built-ins, a deck or a window-and-door job handled by a small crew that several customers have hired more than once, this is the kind of shop that fits. With four employees, ask about the schedule before you commit, confirm who will be running your job day to day, and get the scope and change-order terms in writing.
