Thirteen written reviews, and almost every one of them is about a deck. NE Home Services is a small Wilmington outfit run by Mark Costain, and its own site puts outdoor construction first — decks, porches and porticos — with kitchen and bathroom remodels, basement and ADU conversions, siding and exterior painting alongside. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active and runs through July 2027, filed under Costain's own name at the Marion Street address the business works from. The deck work is where the history is deepest, and it goes back further than most small crews can show. A homeowner writing in 2022 called about water damage behind their deck and found the problem was structural; they described Costain coming out, taking time over the damage, and quoting the real job rather than the easy one. A 2025 reviewer had a composite deck built that took in concrete pad removal, rot replacement and a new slider. Another, in 2023, said the quote came back the same day they asked and the job finished quickly despite weather. Repeat work shows up too — one customer in 2025 listed a full bathroom remodel plus columns and railings on two porches across several jobs. Two things are worth knowing before you call. Five of the thirteen reviews were posted across two days in November 2025, which reads more like a push to collect them than anything organic — the accounts themselves describe different jobs in different words. And Google shows 4.8 across 25 ratings while all thirteen written reviews are five stars, so some of the silent ratings are lower than the written record suggests. This is the right call for a deck, a porch, or exterior carpentry where rot might be hiding underneath — a small crew where the owner himself shows up to quote. For a whole-house remodel or an ADU conversion, ask to see finished examples: the site advertises that work, but the customer accounts are almost entirely outdoor.
