Imax Plumbing is a small Lynn shop with an outsized paper trail. National Grid picked it as one of 16 businesses for a Small Business Impact Initiative grant in November 2023, and a public-bid tracker lists it as the apparent low bidder — $312,000 — on the Bridgewater Housing Authority's cast-iron waste pipe replacement, bids opened in September 2025. The company describes itself as family-owned, started by a plumber who had already spent 13 years working for All Clear Filters. What can be checked holds up. Jorge Morales's Massachusetts plumber licence is active in the state registry, and he is the president on the BBB profile, where the business carries an A+ grade without being accredited. Building permits put them on ten jobs between 2022 and 2025 — combi boilers in Revere, gas lines for cooking equipment and a tankless water heater on a commercial job, a bathroom and kitchen repipe in Milton, a water heater swap in Danvers, fixtures in a Springfield building. Boilers and gas fitting run through nearly all of it. Two things are worth pressing on. No customer has written publicly about a job, so there is no independent account of how the work goes. And the tenure story doesn't line up: the site claims 16 years in the industry while the BBB records the business as started in January 2021, incorporated in 2022, with one employee. The likeliest reading is that the 16 years is the owner's own time on the tools rather than the company's age — ask, rather than assume. The SBE, OSHA and DCAMM certifications listed on that BBB page are the company's own claims, not verified here. For a boiler replacement, gas work, or a burst pipe at 2am on the North Shore, this is a licensed plumber who plainly does the work and answers around the clock. If your job is larger, ask who will actually be on site, and ask for two recent customers you can call.
