J Lamport Plumbing and Heating LLC handles boilers, water heaters and plumbing. Its website lists boiler services and replacement, heat pumps and mini splits, drain cleaning and water heaters among its services, and names Derry and Windham as its service area. Its New Hampshire HVAC license, MBE2601876, is active on the state registry under J. Lamport Plumbing and Heating, LLC. A recent Google customer who hired the company to replace corroded connections said the plumbers seemed qualified, but one corroded connection a foot away was missed, and the second visit to fix it cost roughly an extra $500. That customer said the woman they reached at the office was combative when they asked for a break on the price. A recent customer whose leaking toilet was fixed under warranty by a private plumber said an invoice from J Lamport arrived weeks later, because that plumber now worked for the company. The customer said an employee threatened to put a lien on the home if the invoice was not paid. A 2025 customer said J Lamport gave the most reasonable quote to replace their boiler and hot water heater and replaced everything in a timely manner. A 2025 customer said a plumber named Bobby came out the same day and fixed the issue. A 2024 customer who changed an earlier positive review wrote that the new people were still learning, and that another company fixed the problems they said J Lamport caused. A 2022 customer who hired the company to install a jet tub said the tub was not level and was not screwed all the way to the studs, so the general contractor had to remove and re-secure it; that customer said a promised call back from the owner never came.
The plumbers themselves seemed pro and qualified, but I won't be using this company bc of the customer service and the secretary. My first question is, why was I paying over $200 / hour for an apprentice AND a plumber for a small job just replacing some 1/2 dozen or so corroded connections? They did a good job on the first visit, but missed this one corroded connection in the pic that was 1 foot away from the other corroded connections where they were working. The whole point of the job was to replace all corroded connections but he left! I had to call them again to get another plumber out to fix this. Then when working on this it caused another problem that needed to be fixed where the first plumber had worked originally on the same manifold that all should've all been taken care of on the first visit. This lapse in being detailed and completely doing the job the first time ended up costing me roughly an extra $500 on a 2nd visit. I called the office to discuss this situation and hoping maybe there was a little break on the price, just something to help me feel like they took some ownership of this situation, but nothing. She was very combative and disagreeable and offered nothing at all in terms of some little break on this obnoxious amount in labor costs.
I contacted a private plumber that had done work at my home previously regarding a warranty issue of a leaking toilet. He responded that he was glad to address the repair and would be out ASAP to remedy the issue. Later that day I recieved a call from that same plumber stating that he couldn't make it but that he would send a plumber friend named Bobby to get it taken care of right away. Bobby arrived as promised and with the quick swap of a faulty wax ring , the problem was resolved. Weeks later , I recieved an invoice from J Lamport Plumbing and Heating LLC. After contacting them , they stated that I had hired them and that I owe them for services that were rendered. I explained that I did not know who they were and that I had never requested services from them. They went on to explain that the private plumber I had spoken to no longer works for himself and has now taken up employment with J Lamport Plumbing and Heating LLC. I explained that this was a warranty issue that was handled promptly by the private plumber I had hired and at no time was there any mention that this was not covered as a warranty issue or that he no longer works as a private plumber. It was at that time the employee of J Lamport Plumbing and Heating LLC. began yelling that she did not care and continued by threatenining to put a lien on my home if the invoice was not paid. After trying to politely respond and suggest that she speak with the now employee , she promtly hung up the phone.
Maybe don't cut off a school bus going 40mph just because you don't want to be behind said bus.
We had to have to our boiler and hot water heater replaced. J Lamport had the most reasonable quote, was easy to communicate with, very knowledgeable and replaced everything in a timely and professional manner! He and his whole team were very friendly and easy to work with.
Called J Lamport Plumbing with an issue, same day came out and took care of the problem without incident. Bobby was the plumber who assisted me, was polite and respectful, fixed the issue in no time, strongly recommend this company.
