The clearest thing about J.P. Hoffman Design Build is what its clients do afterwards: they call back. A reviewer in October 2025 described hiring the firm to remodel their whole house in 2020, hiring them again in 2024 for a basement with a home office, bedroom and full bath, and already planning a third project. Another, writing in December 2024, had them renovate the kitchen and laundry of a 1780s house seven years earlier and brought them back to replace every window in it. Jason and Megan Hoffman run the Bridgewater firm as, in their own words, "a family owned and run company, Husband and Wife Team" - Jason as owner, CEO, master carpenter and lead designer. They say they have been renovating homes south of Boston since 2004. On Houzz the profile sits at 5.0 across 77 ratings, with work quality, communication and value each scored 5.0, and the written accounts read more like project logs than applause. A June 2026 kitchen client named the designer, the project manager and two carpenters, then singled out something other than the finish: the schedule held, and they hosted the holidays in the new kitchen exactly as promised. A November 2025 client renovating a first floor was struck by how rarely the house was empty of trades. A December 2025 porch rebuild came in below the original estimate. Trade press has noticed as well - PRO New England's awards coverage lists the firm as a Residential Basement GOLD winner, and Houzz's credentials show 17 Best of Houzz awards. Two things worth settling before you call. This is a firm built for substantial projects - Houzz puts a typical job at $50,000 to $750,000 - so a small repair is a different conversation from what most of these accounts describe. And the construction supervisor licence number on the Houzz profile, CS-070278, is the directory's listing rather than a registry check; ask for the current registration and a certificate of insurance directly. The written history is also short relative to the claimed run: the accounts on file begin in 2024, though the company dates itself to 2004. What you are reading is a busy recent stretch rather than two decades of paper trail. On that stretch, this is the right call for a whole-room or whole-floor renovation, and particularly for an older house where trim and framing have to be matched rather than ripped out. Come with a scope you want designed, not just built.

“Jason Hoffman is talented and attentive to detail. His expertise and vision help to recreate the historical period of the home he is remodeling. He explores records to determine the age of the home and will go the extra mile in matching up exact woodwork, etc. to bring a home back to it’s original beauty.”
After talking about renovating our kitchen for nearly 10 years, we finally decided it was time to move forward. We knew this would be one of the biggest projects we'd take on in our home, so we wanted to make sure we did it right. The challenge was that we weren't exactly sure what our vision looked like until we met Jason and Megan at J.P. Hoffman. From our very first meetings, Jason and Megan's creativity, design expertise, and attention to detail gave us complete confidence that we had chosen the right company. They listened to what was important to our family, introduced ideas we never would have considered, and helped turn our vision into a beautiful, functional kitchen that exceeded our expectations. Kim was also an invaluable part of the process. She helped us select the perfect materials, colors, fixtures, and finishes to complement the transitional style of our home. When we inevitably experienced "decision fatigue," her thoughtful guidance made choosing between countless options much easier. Once construction began, our project manager, Austin, was outstanding. He stayed on top of every day's schedule, communicated constantly, and paid incredible attention to detail. What impressed us most was that whenever there was something we may have questioned, he had already identified it and addressed it before we even had to ask. His professionalism and proactive communication made the renovation process far less stressful. Todd and Mike were also a pleasure to work with. Their craftsmanship was exceptional, and it was obvious they were highly experienced in their trade. They took great pride in their work, and it showed in every detail of the finished kitchen. One of the things we appreciated most about J.P. Hoffman was their commitment to the schedule they promised. They kept every phase of the renovation moving exactly as planned and completed the project on time, allowing us to host the holidays in our new kitchen just as we had hoped. Anyone who has lived through a kitchen renovation knows how important that is. The entire team made what could have been a stressful renovation an enjoyable experience. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, communication, and attention to detail were evident every step of the way. We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen. It's now the centerpiece of our home and a space our family will enjoy every day for years to come. We absolutely plan to use J.P. Hoffman for future home projects and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a renovation. Thank you to Jason, Megan, Kim, Austin, Todd, Mike, and everyone at J.P. Hoffman for creating such a beautiful space and making the entire experience first-class from start to finish.
I was fortunate to see Jason and his work crew performing work on a neighbor's house while I was searching for someone to repair / rebuild our front porch. The work performed on our neighbor's house was well handled and completed in a timely manner. So I chose them for my porch project. I found that working with Jason and his team was even better than I had hoped. I experienced a totally professional, planning, estimation and repair / rebuilding of our porch with full ongoing cleanup by knowledgeable personnel. And Jason and his crew was able to bring the project in below his original estimate. Always a happy ending. I have other work planned for our house next year and I plan to continue to use J.P. Hoffman for it. Quality speaks for itself.
We hired J.P. Hoffman for a major renovation of our first floor, including the kitchen, dining room, mud room and cosmetic enhancements to our family room and we had a great experience. From start to finish, the project was handled with professionalism, clear communication, and attention to detail. Having never been through this process before, both Jason and Meg walked us through the steps leading up to demo with such patience and care so that we were truly prepared for what was to come. Jason took our vison and created a very well thought out plan for the new space, using our feedback to modify it until it was perfect. We were provided with a very clear timeline for and expectations of when we needed to have selections made by in order to keep everything on track, as well as plenty of guidance around making all of our selections to keep us within budget. I am still amazed at the efficiency of the subcontractor scheduling; there were very few days during the project when no one was working on the house (and many days when multiple subcontractors were working at the same time). Jason and Meg took what seemed to be a very overwhelming process and made it totally smooth and easy. We are eternally grateful to them and love our new spaces!
We hired J.P. Hoffman Design Build to remodel our entire home in 2020 and we enjoyed working with them so much we hired them again in 2024 for a basement remodel with a home office, 1 bedroom and a full bathroom. They did such great work on our house that our neighbors decided to hire them to do work on their house too. We're looking to add another bedroom to our house in a few years and we plan on calling Megan and Jason to do it. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a design/build company. They are the best in the business.
We are absolutely pleased with the results of the recent updates to the kitchen and bathroom in our 140-year-old home, a process that was overseen by JPH and included all details from design through final inspections. Planning and regular communications were key factors in the process. Their entire team, including Austin, Todd, Mike, subcontractors and suppliers were all personable, demonstrated professionalism and attentive to every detail. Without hesitation, we recommend JPH for the consideration of any home renovation project.
