Why is it so hard to find good service in Maine? I have called James Reid Heating twice in the past week to get them out to do a basic radiant heat systems check and maintenance. The second time I called, the answering service they use asked if this was an emergency. No it’s not. I just want to schedule a systems check to make sure it doesn’t become an emergency down the road. They installed the original system back in 2004 so I felt they would be the most qualified people to do it. Needless to say, I have not received a call back and I have left 2 messages. The last time I got them out here I had to get ahold of the owner via a cell number through a friend that knows him. We pay right away and always have. We even live 15 minutes away from the business. This is a huge disappointment. I guess the only way to get service is to go without service until the system fails and then have to pay an emergency repair fee on top of a potential insurance claim for further damage caused. I guess DIY is the way of the future whether I feel qualified or not.
