JCF Plumbing & Heating is a Milford outfit built around one name customers keep repeating — reviews going back to 2017 return again and again to the same technician, John, for faucet swaps, a stuck toilet, and the occasional emergency leak. On Google, where the company holds a 4.9-star average from nine ratings, the story stays consistent: a corroded shutoff valve replaced at a fair price in a 2023 review, outside faucets swapped with no leaking afterward that same year, a bathtub faucet fixed for exactly the estimate given in a 2022 review. In a February 2026 review, a customer described John coming out the next day for a minor basement leak, handling the small fix without trying to upsell, and throwing in advice for other projects they had in mind. Angi tells a rougher story. Two 2017 reviews there echo the same themes — quick to respond, on time, dependable — but a 2021 review describes a pipe that snapped after a repair, flooding the house with thousands of dollars in damage, and says calls afterward went unanswered until a second plumber confirmed the bolts hadn't been tightened properly. It's the one sharply negative account in the mix, and it's worth asking about directly before booking anything involving shutoff valves or pressurized fittings. Beyond faucet, fixture, and pipe work, Angi's listing also credits the company with water heater installation and replacement, though no individual review describes that job. Nothing in the reviews speaks to furnace or AC work despite the "Heating" in the name — every job described is plumbing. For a routine repair, the multi-year run of specific, positive Google reviews is the stronger signal; for anything bigger, it's worth confirming directly how a callback gets handled if something goes wrong.

John is fantastic. We called him when we had a minor leak in our basement, and he came by next day. It was a small fix, he didn't upsell us, and beyond all that, he gave us great advice and local recommendations for future projects we had on our minds. Couldn't ask for more. We will definitely call John again!
John is a great plumber and an amazing person. I hired John to replace a toilet and corroded shutoff valve. This was done in an exceptional manner at a very fair price. When John was finished I mentioned to him that we had an issue with our tub drain and the trip lever. John explained to me the simple process of removing the existing lever and how to replace it which is something I was easily able to do on my own. If you are looking for a plumber that is trust worthy and honest then look no further and give JCF Plumbing and Heating a call.
John changed my outside faucets. Love the new style and absolutely no leaking. Very professional and nice. Highly recommend. Thank you!
John repaired my bathtub faucet pipes. He responded quickly, did a great job, and did the work for exactly what he estimated.
He did not tighten the bolts properly, therefore causing the pipe to snap and explode. This oversight on his part caused 1000s in damage to my house, and the true extent of the damage is unknown at this time. I do know, that when I called him (as my house was flooding) he ignored my calls and texts. A second plumber came out to my house and verified that he did not tighten the bolts right. I’m out $300 plus the damage the flood caused. Please stay away from JCF plumbing. JOhn Fontana is a crook- and shouldn’t be on Angie’s list.
