T & J Heating & Air Conditioning is a Bellingham, MA company whose website says it provides HVAC, plumbing and electrical services to residential and small commercial buildings throughout the Commonwealth, including Cape Cod and Rhode Island. In a 2025 review, a customer said they used T&J when the boiler died in the dead of winter and they finished the job within a week, but that their office and reception never answer. That 2025 reviewer also said a "courtesy call" visit a year after the boiler was installed lasted less than 20 minutes and was followed a week later by a $300 bill, and that a receptionist told them "they often do not pull permits for boiler installations," which the town inspector/permit department told them is most definitely required. In a 2025 review, a customer with a boiler problem and no heat or hot water said they were told that, since they didn't sign up for the extra care package, the earliest the company would come check out the problem was Dec. 5. In a 2025 review, a customer said the company put in a boiler, the heat exchanger broke, and they had to pay them again to install a new one; that customer said the system might even be leaking carbon monoxide and that they refused to come back to inspect it. In a 2025 review, a customer said their boiler was installed with screws that were not long enough, so it was held up by the pipes; after two technician visits at 196.00 each, they had G&V plumbing come out, and 2600.00 worth of repairs later it was fixed. In a 2024 review, a customer whose systems T&J installed 10 years before said that during a heat pump repair the part had not been ordered two days before the visit, the wrong part was then ordered, and T&J never called back, and that a competitor was out in two days.

We used T&J when the boiler died in the dead of winter. They finished the job within a week but it was a struggle dealing with them. Their office and reception never answer and when they do, they are unprofessional and do not communicate with the workers they send out. We had to have someone come out a year after the boiler was installed, so I called them for information. They told me they will send someone for a "courtesy call" 2 days later to checkout the issue. They were there for less than 20 minutes and sent me a bill a week later for $300. One of the receptionists also told me that "they often do not pull permits for boiler installations" and it is "not required by the town or by law". I spoke with the town inspector/permit department who informed me it is most definitely required and that it was unprofessional and concerning they told me this. I would not recommend if you want professional service, reliability, and honesty.
Very disappointing experience with this company recently. We have been loyal customers for over ten years using them for all our heating and air conditioning needs (they did the install in our house). Today we called as we have a problem with our boiler and have no heat or hot water. We were told that since we didn't sign up for their extra care package, the earliest they would come check out the problem was Dec. 5! They thought it would be ok for my family to have no heat or hot water for almost a month?? Service has been consistently going downhill, but this was a new low for them.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This company has completely gone downhill since the previous owner — who was a genuinely great gentleman — retired. The new management is awful. They recommend low-quality products and do poor installations. They put in a boiler for me, the heat exchanger broke, and I had to pay them again to install a new one. Now it seems like the system might even be leaking carbon monoxide, and they refuse to come back to inspect it. Their customer service is rude and dismissive. Every job they’ve done has led to another issue. There are plenty of better HVAC companies out there — I’d strongly suggest staying away from this one. The problem clearly starts with the owner and the leadership.
They installed my boiler with screws that were not long enough. So the boiler was held up by the pipes. Years of them coming out and servicing it never noticed. Two years ago had ignition problems with the boiler. technician came out for 5 minutes said nothing wrong. 196.00 cost. Beginning of winter same issue technician out again could find anything. With a whole list of errors on the boiler log. Another 196.00 and told me wife we should purchase a maintenance agreement for 600.00. why van fix the issue. So i had G&V plumbing come out. 2600.00 worth of repairs late it fixed. Oh and on installation of boiler G&C found it falling of the wall for some time. Had T&J come out a year later they came out and fixed the right way. then they changed me 675.00 to fix there mistake. Good luck having them do work for you no HONOR. Amd it leeking water now have to cal G&C to fix there mistake again
Disappointed. T&J installed my systems 10 years ago. All worked well. I am now having problems with the heat pump unit, called T&J and was told a 3 week wait as they were busy. Ok. I sent pictures of broken cover/door. I called two days before they were to come out and they hadn't ordered the part. Rescheduled to the following week. The day before the visit they called and said they ordered the wrong part. I called them twice over the next week and they couldn't get me a date for the part from the distributor. Another week went by and T&J never called me back. I called a competitor and they were out in two days, ordered the part and scheduled the repair.
