BBB dates John A. DiZoglio Painting Contractor to 1961 — a Methuen painting shop of about three people, with John DiZoglio as owner and Angela DiZoglio running the office. The work listed goes well past rolling walls: commercial, industrial and residential painting, plus wallcovering, ceiling finishes, pressure washing, mildewcide treatment, and decorative finishes like marbleizing, faux work and Multispec. Sixty-five years in, and no customer has posted a review anywhere we looked. BBB issues no rating at all, saying it lacks enough information to do so, and the BuildZoom page under this name carries neither reviews nor permits. Two things to settle before you call. BBB notes that mail it sent to the company was returned by the Postal Service, which raises a fair question about whether the business is still reachable at its listed Methuen addresses. And every license record attached to the name on BuildZoom is lapsed — a Massachusetts painter license that expired in October 1997, and two home improvement contractor registrations logged as inactive and, per Mass.gov Consumer Affairs, cancelled at some point. That BuildZoom entry also carries a Somerville address, a different area code and two unrelated owner names, so its license records may not all belong to this Methuen company. Massachusetts exempts interior-painting-only contractors from home improvement contractor registration, so the absence of a current one is not automatically a problem — but registrations that existed and ended are a different fact, and this shop's listed work includes exterior and commercial jobs. Treat this as an unconfirmed listing rather than a shop you can book off a page. Reach someone by phone first, confirm the business is still trading, then ask directly about current registration and insurance for the specific job.
