John D. The numbers on directory pages look steady on the surface: a 4-star Google rating from a handful of ratings, and 4.1 out of 5 on Houzz across eight reviews, where the profile also lists an OSHA 30 credential, a Lead Certified credential, and a Norwell Beautification Award. Dig past those star counts, though, and the actual written reviews are scarce — only two full reviews turned up across the web going back to 2022, and they don't agree with each other: one was warmly positive, the other was a clear warning sign. That's not much to judge a decades-old company by, and the split itself is worth noticing. Its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration is active, which at least confirms it's currently in good standing with the state. Beyond that, there isn't much independent, recent commentary to lean on — most of what's out there either repeats the company's own history or comes from directories with thin review counts. For a homeowner drawn to a business with a long local history and a clean license record, McKay is worth a conversation — just ask for a few recent references directly, since the public review trail here is too thin to settle the question on its own.
