Verified record
John Oliveira & Sons Stamp Concrete is a family-owned decorative-concrete company at 33 Middleboro Rd in East Freetown. Its own site describes stamped and decorative concrete work — patios, walkways, driveways, pool decks and decorative walls — and lists pavers, masonry and excavation among the jobs it takes on. The Better Business Bureau lists it under Decorative Concrete Contractors, records the business as started 1/1/2002 with about 10 employees and a customer contact of Mr. Jeff Oliveria, and shows it as not accredited and not rated. The most serious thing on the record is a federal criminal case. In February 2026 the company pleaded guilty in federal court through its president, Michael Oliveira, to willfully violating OSHA safety standards after a worker was fatally injured by heavy machinery at its worksite on Sept. 6, 2023. The Labor Department's investigation found the company instructed the employee to remove a soil screen on a conveyor, after which he was crushed between the conveyor and its frame; OSHA proposed $201,000 in penalties in December 2023, and the company was sentenced in 2026. Separately, in October 2024 the Massachusetts Attorney General's office named the company as one of five state employers penalized in an action over worker protections. The customer record is small and mostly unhappy. Google shows 1.8 stars from five ratings. A June 2026 reviewer praised an "excellent job on pouring and stamping a concrete patio" and called the crew professional. Against that, a January 2025 reviewer said a stamped patio looked great but began flaking within six months, exposing the cement mixture beneath, and that the owner blamed rock salt, refused to inspect or repair it, and had asked to be paid in cash. A December 2024 reviewer said three phone messages went unreturned, and a January 2026 reviewer complained about how the company's snow-removal crews left plowed snow in the roadway. The tenure the company states does not line up with the record: the site claims over 30 years of experience in stamped concrete, while the BBB file puts the business start at 2002 — 24 years. Treat the longer figure as the owners' account of their personal experience rather than a verified company history. This is a row to approach with the enforcement record in hand. Anyone considering the company should ask directly about the OSHA conviction and its probation terms, about what site-safety practices have changed since, about the durability of the surface finish and what the written warranty covers if it flakes, and should insist on a written contract and traceable payment rather than cash.

Excellent job on pouring and stamping a concrete patio. Always professional and they provide quality work. Thank you!
Train your guys who are conducting snow removal during these snow storms how plow & remove snow correctly. Leaving snow across/in roadways after clearing private driveways isn't it. They're doing it wrong.
The stamped concrete this company did on my patio looked great, however it didn't even last 6 months. It all started flaking and the cement mixture was visible where the top layer went missing. The owner of this company accused us of using rock salt, which we did not use as this was our BACK patio. He refused to come and look at it or repair it. Also, he requested cash, so obviously this was not reported.
My advice would be not to contact this company, they don't return phone calls 3 messages left ,so I can only imagine there customer service is garbage.
