John Ricardo Hardwood Floors is a Plymouth flooring contractor run by John Ricardo, also doing business as Ricardo Flooring and John Ricardo Flooring. The Better Business Bureau lists the company at 24 years in business with an A+ rating — unaccredited, but with no complaints on file. The clearest customer account on hand is a 2024 Google review describing a hardwood floor job: the reviewer credited John Ricardo and the crew with careful attention to detail and steady communication, saying expectations were set clearly and followed through on. Beyond that single detailed account, the company's overall Google rating sits at 3.7 from six ratings. Worth knowing before calling: federal bankruptcy court filings show a Chapter 7 case filed under the company's name in March 2015 and closed in June 2017. BuildZoom also lists the business in Hamilton, MA rather than the Plymouth address on file elsewhere, so it's worth confirming exactly where the company operates from now. BuildZoom separately lists active-status Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor and Construction Supervisor licenses for the company, though that listing is the directory's own record rather than an independent check. With few independent reviews to go on, get a couple of references from recent hardwood jobs and confirm licensing and current business standing directly before signing anything.

John Ricardo and his team did an outstanding job on our hardwood floors. We could not be happier with the outcome. John's attention to detail and timely communications were exactly what we needed. Setting clear expectations and following through. This was especially helpful since we were remote from the property. John always followed up as promised. We purchased our flooring through Lumber Liquidators (would not recommend). This means the quality of the wood is "contractor grade" (which we did not know when purchasing). Contractor grade flooring has MANY inconsistencies in tone and quality as compared to their website pictures. John and his team have the seasoned experience to know exactly how to manage these kinds of challenges so that the flooring lays out beautifully. There is an art to properly laying out pre-finished hard wood flooring and John and his team were amazing. Thank you, John!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
