Old houses come up again and again in Joseph Rocheleau's reviews. The Hudson electrician, usually working alongside a colleague named Mike, has 226 ratings on both Angi and HomeAdvisor averaging 4.7 and 279 on Porch averaging 4.4, though the written reviews run from 2017 to 2021. The biggest job described is from a 2017 Angi review: Joe and Mike rewired an old house in four days, working long days, and the customer said they came in on the low side of the quote and that Joe committed to be there every day until it was done. In a 2020 review, a customer listed knob and tube replacement, additional circuits and a rewire of shoddy DIY electrical work. Safety calls get handled quickly. In a 2019 review, a customer with flashing lights called Joe in the morning; he came right out, found the main feed to the breaker panel was faulty, postponed other work to replace it, and cleaned up a sloppy earlier installation. A 2017 customer whose new recessed lights included a bedroom light that would not turn off properly said Joe and Mike came back the very next day to fix it. Price and estimates come up too. A 2021 Angi customer said the final bill was very close to the initial estimate, and a 2017 reviewer called Joe's pricing fair and accurate with no surprises at the end. In a 2019 review, a customer said Mike explained up front that code requirements would change the scope and raise the price, and finished the added work on the same visit. A 2017 review rated the work 3 stars, calling it ok. Its Massachusetts electrician license, #38838-EL-E, is active, held by Joseph Rocheleau. The BBB grades the business A+ and lists it as accredited.
He was easy to work with: communicated effectively, did what he said and showed up on time. He is reasonably priced and the final bill was very close to his initial estimate. It is obvious he cares about his work and was great in suggesting options for different situations. I have recommended him to others already.

Had a problem with flashing lights in the house and called Joe the following morning. He came right out and quickly determined that the main feed to the breaker panel was faulty and needed replacement. Because it was a safety issue, he postponed other work and fixed our issue right away. Additionally, he took what had been a pretty sloppy installation and cleaned it up to be safe and professional. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone needing service in the Hudson area.
Mike came on time and was very friendly and professional. He communicated right away with my husband that the scope of work would change due to the code requirements and that in turn was going to increase our price. He had time and was able to do the additional work required in the same visit, so we went ahead with it without having to reschedule. We were so happy with our experience and are already considering a couple more projects that we might need them to come back for. We would definitely recommend to friends or family.
