The most useful thing anyone has written about Joshua Painting is a May 2025 account of an exterior job in Sandwich: the owner came out, walked the house, and priced the front shingles, the whole-house trim and the gutters after talking the scope through. The crew then stripped and sanded the old paint off the shingles and trim, power washed the house, and pulled the gutters, shutters and outdoor light fixtures off so nothing had to be painted around. That is prep-first exterior work, described by the person who paid for it.

Two older accounts carry more than the rest. A July 2025 reviewer, new to decorating, described a feature wall sketched as a custom ombré at the consultation and then painted with smooth transitions and clean edges, with the crew cleaning up at the end of each day. A repeat customer writing in May 2025 said he had used Josh's crews many times and got fair prices for the quality.
Two things are worth sorting out before booking. There are only eight reviews on file, spanning 2024 to 2026, so there is little history to test consistency against and nothing showing how the company handles a job that goes wrong. And the website sells considerably more than paint — carpentry, flooring, siding, windows and doors, even kitchen and bathroom remodeling — while every customer account on file is about painting. If you are hiring them for the remodeling side, ask for references on that work specifically.
For an interior repaint or a prep-heavy exterior on the mid-Cape, this is a small outfit where the owner is in the estimate himself. Get the prep written into the quote the way that May 2025 customer described it: what gets stripped, what gets sanded, what gets washed, and what comes off the house before a brush touches it.
