Ken Duval Oil

Ken Duval Oil delivers heating oil, diesel fuel and Bioheat and installs, maintains and repairs heating and A/C systems across the South Shore, by its own description. A recent Google customer described the hands-off version of that: the company monitors their tank level and sends a delivery when it is needed. The company says it started in 1999 as a heating oil and diesel delivery business and grew into a full-service fuel and HVAC company. Its BBB grade is A+. A recent customer who has been with the company since 2012 said it has handled furnace replacement, oil tank replacement, maintenance, emergency service and fuel delivery for them. A recent reviewer who had previously used a different oil company said Ken Duval was on time both times they used it, and named Bill Woods as the person they dealt with. A recent customer said the company had come up with a way to pay monthly, which they expected to ease the next winter. In a 2025 review, a customer whose previous oil company blew them off said Ken Duval came out on a Saturday for a delivery after they left a message after hours on Friday night. A 2025 reviewer said Bill and his crew kept a large generator filled with diesel every other day during construction. In a 2024 review, a customer said an employee named Geno worked out how to install new tanks in their very old home and came in thousands less than other companies; that 2024 customer said the estimate took a while and the install was done in one day. A recent 1-star reviewer, a customer of 28 years, said neither the oil tank replacement they had asked the technician about nor a $20 cleanout coupon appeared on the invoice, that the woman who answered the office phone was rude and dismissive, and that the card the company kept for them was charged the full amount. That recent customer said they answered the company's emails and text asking how it did, explained the whole situation, and got no response, and wrote that the company is "not even the best price in the area for heating oil." A 2026 reviewer wrote "Worst customer service and very rude" and told others to stay away. In a 2025 review, a customer who had not yet paid for a boiler cleaning said the technician was nasty on the phone to their 80-year-old grandmother, said he would not leave the house until she paid, and made an obscene gesture. That 2025 customer said a younger worker was told to disable the boiler by flipping its breaker on a 20-degree day, then came back about 20 minutes later and flipped it back on, and that the office said it would look into it and never got back to them. In a 2024 review, a customer whose boiler kept locking out said a technician replaced the sensor, nozzle and filter, the problem came back the next night, and a later technician said a new motor and pump were likely needed. That 2024 customer said David Brueggeman, whom they called next, raised the oil pressure and the issue was fixed, and that three days later Ken Duval still had not called back. A 2023 reviewer accused the company of ripping off a woman for 200 dollars, writing that the technician was there for 10 minutes, did not put the right filter in, and her system went out 10 hours later.
