Ken Montgomery Home Services is a one-man carpentry and handyman business out of Londonderry, New Hampshire, and it describes itself as covering southern New Hampshire and the Merrimack Valley side of Massachusetts. What it is actually known for is narrower than the service list suggests: every review on file is about a deck. The pattern in those accounts is consistent. A customer writing in June 2019 had a deck finished in under two weeks and said Ken was on site every day. In April 2017 a homeowner who had put in an above-ground pool had their existing deck extended to the pool's edge, praised the design advice, and noted that when a gate developed a problem a few weeks later Ken came out and fixed it immediately. Another in March 2017 had met four contractors for estimates and found him the most professional of them. A February 2017 customer had a deck built around an above-ground pool and lattice fitted underneath the house deck, and mentioned he arrived with photos, prices and styles to choose from. Around that core he lists patios, pergolas, porches, railings, pool decks, paver installation, gazebos, sheds, balconies, awnings, deck staining and fence work, and his Houzz portfolio adds a custom shed, kitchen remodels and flooring. Two things to weigh. The written record is small and old — four reviews, the newest from June 2019 — so it says a lot about how he worked then and nothing about now. And no licence or registration is listed anywhere on the profile, which matters if the job is on the Massachusetts side of the line: ask about Home Improvement Contractor registration and insurance before booking. For an above-ground pool deck or a straightforward deck build in southern New Hampshire or around Methuen, the specific praise here is unusually consistent for one kind of work. Ask for recent references and confirm registration and insurance for your state.

I love my new deck! Ken did a great job! He was there everyday and in less than two weeks I had a beautiful new deck. He is professional and pays great attention to detail. I will be calling him again for future jobs around the house. Thank you, Ken!

We put in an above ground pool off the corner of our existing deck. Ken did an awesome job extending our current deck up to the edge of the pool. Offered great advice and expertise on a highly effective and appropriate design for us. We love this deck. There was a small issue a few weeks out with the gate and Ken promptly came out an fixed immediately. I highly recommend Ken Montgomery if you want to build a deck near a pool.

We met with 4 different people to give us an estimate and design a deck for us. Ken was by a long shot, the most professional about the process. He installed our deck last year right at the end of the winter. It has brought a lot of happiness to our family as we've enjoy much more outdoor quality time together this past summer. Thanks for everything Ken! Sincerely, Jim

I hired Ken to build a deck around my above ground pool. He showed up with pictures, prices and styles to choose from. The job was finished and the deck looks great. Ken did a great job. I also had Ken install lattice onto the bottom of my deck attached to my house. Very happy with that also.
