Ken's Pools is a pool-service company whose reviews split sharply on responsiveness. One homeowner's July 2026 account describes a low-water opening, conflicting leak advice, and weeks without a plan; other customers describe same-day problem solving, thorough cleaning, and dependable work. The strongest praise is concrete. In a 2023 review, a customer said Ken answered immediately, arrived that afternoon, fixed the pool problem, vacuumed it, and checked that everything was working. A 2022 reviewer also described Ken coming over to thaw frozen pipes and restoring service the next day. Google shows 4.1 stars from 16 ratings, with written reviews spanning 2022–2026. Responsiveness is the question to settle before booking. A June 2025 review says scheduling can be quick and professional but that emergency calls may be ignored when the team is busy; the July 2026 reviewer likewise says repeated follow-ups produced no plan. Another 2023 review bluntly describes terrible customer service and being ignored. Ken's Pools may suit homeowners who can secure a clear service window and want hands-on pool cleaning and troubleshooting. I had planned to have pool service from Ken pool for this season / year . I am new pool owner and had no knowledge about working of a pool . When my pool was opened by them it appears water was significantly low . I was informed by them that the whole water will need to be drained for them to look at the problem/leak and they will get back to me in 2 weeks with the plan as they are busy . 2-3 weeks went by without any plan , I reached out to them several times . I reached out to american leak detection who informed me opposite of what ken pool said . American leak detection wanted pool cleaned and full before checking for any leak . I am still not sure how ken pool services would detect leak after draining all the water? It was overall very poor experience with no instructions given how to manage the pool pump after initial chemicals. I was just told to keep the pump running with no instructions of back washing or watching the pressure on the filter . When their guys came to do cleaning and priming the pump I tagged along so I could learn something and asked several questions . After they left, Ken the owner told me to give their guys some space and they felt uncomfortable with me being there while they were working. That was shocking to me as a new pool owner where they should be educating me about the necessary pool maintainence things. I have tagged along with HVAC , well pump , electrician in the last 6 months since I am a new home owner as well . Nobody and I mean nobody was ever rude and impolite, instead they took time to guide me about all necessary things . In all the times I have interacted with the owner and their staff , everybody seemed totally frustrated with their work load . I have heard from them how 6 people in their company are handling 400 pools but that does-not mean Can be flustered all the time during conversations with the owner. I called another pool company to come by to give some insight into the whole pool maintainence . There was such a huge difference in their demeanor and guided me about back wash , looking for pressure increases etc . I have called them again as I have terminated ken pool service .
Ken Kara and team are amazing!! I tried three other companies and well they were terrible! Ken and team are fantastic!
Quick and professional when you can schedule him, will otherwise ghost you if you have an emergency or if he's busy. A quick 15 minute visit from them would've saved me hours of trying to figure out how to do this myself.
Quality work with reliable service. Ken’s staff were always professional and friendly when at my home.
Terrible I mean terrible customer service I do not recommend them…unless you want to be ignored !!!!
