Granite and quartz countertops are the center of Key Stone Carvings’ work: customers describe choosing stone, having it measured and fabricated, and seeing it installed at home. The Hudson shop and showroom says Freddy Pihl and Dee Dee Hawxhurst founded the business in 2009. It also advertises kitchen, bathroom and outdoor-kitchen design and installation. Google lists a 4.8-star average from 34 ratings. A July 2026 customer says they chose granite in the showroom, found the price reasonable and were pleased with the finished fit and caulking. An August 2026 reviewer credits Amanda with coordinating a project around a tight budget and timeline, and Leo with an accurate on-site layout that helped manufacturing move quickly. The customer describes the final installation as quick and straightforward. These are accounts of particular projects, including the work between selecting a slab and getting it into the house. Earlier customers describe that process too. In a March 2023 review, a homeowner said DeeDee helped them select a granite slab that worked with their cherry cabinets; they praised its fabrication and installation. A December 2023 reviewer described a white quartz countertop and praised the measurement and installation teams’ treatment of their home. In an October 2024 review, a customer said Alan remained patient through several changes of mind about the countertops. A kitchen designer writing in January 2024 described years of working with the company and said the builder they then worked for used it exclusively. Installation timing has also drawn criticism. A May 2026 customer who hired the company for countertops and a backsplash reported three rescheduled dates, a broken saw and a broken slab. The reviewer described the job as taking a month before it was finally done. An October 2022 customer reported a different problem: the final invoice for kitchen and bathroom countertops was more than $2,000 above the estimate. They also described a gap where a countertop and backsplash ended. The customer said the company agreed to fix the kitchen backsplash, but they remained unhappy with the bathroom result. The same review praised the worker who visited as pleasant and kind, while disputing his explanation that the fit was normal.

We are super pleased with our new granite countertops , the whole process was excellent, they offer such beautiful stone for all tastes we loved ours the second we chose it in the showroom and the priced seemed very reasonable , the installers as well were so proffessional and it fit perfectly and they caulked it in for that really finished feel , we are so happy feels like a dream .
I hired this company to redo my countertops and backsplash, but I’ve come to realize I didn’t hire a stone company—I hired a comedy of errors. After three rescheduled dates, I’ve learned that their equipment is apparently held together by hopes and dreams (RIP to the broken saw) and their slabs have the structural integrity of a saltine cracker, (RIP, broken slab). I was worried , my grandkids would be the ones to inherit the backsplash. The 10-14 install turned into 23 days. If you enjoy the thrill of a 'mystery' install date that moves more than a nomad, this is the team for you." Took a month but finally done.
