Every published account of Kneeland Construction describes the same kind of job: making a house bigger while the family keeps living in it. The Medford company describes itself as a family-owned, second-generation design-build contractor working Greater Boston since 1984, with nine people on staff — and the work its customers write about is additions, second-story builds and dormers, almost without exception. It is the second time I used kneeland for addition projects. like last time, things were moving smoothly and both projects were done within the promised timelines. the project managers were easy to work with and no issues at all. And their price was reasonable as well. I would re-hire them again for my future projects.
We worked with Nick from Kneeland to add a second bathroom where an unfinished closet had been and extend an existing dormer on our home. Nick was great to work with - if we ever had any questions or concerns, we could text or call him at any moment and he was quick to respond. If it wasnt something he could address over the phone, he was great about either sending someone or coming out himself to take a look. We felt the pricing was fair for the work being done, and Nick and his team of sub contractors stayed on schedule. Were so happy with how our new bathroom turned out, and our bedroom feels so much bigger with the dormer. It was our first major project as homeowners and we had a great experience working with Kneeland.

They were willing to work around our funky home and were the only contractor that we spoke with that was able to keep every room in our house livable the entire time during construction! The workers were incredibly nice, prompt, and did a great job. They were very communicative the entire time. They were so nice to our toddler and became best friends with our dog! The project was completed earlier than expected and was exactly on budget. We would highly recommend them!
We worked with Kneeland earlier this year to put on an addition. They were phenomenal to work with! Nick was very communicative, easy to work with, and always responsive. He also went out of his way to become friends with our dog! Cost estimates were accurate and change orders were clear, no unexpected financial surprises to worry about. Project was done on time and looks absolutely gorgeous! Our home is over 120 years old and they took such great care to make sure things were done well. Would definitely recommend!
We used Kneeland to add an extra bedroom and update the exterior entrances to our home. We found them through a friend, and we were happy to go with them when they gave us a reasonable quote with options based on where we wanted to spend our money. The project had a delay with permitting, but Kneeland worked with us through adapting the project to meet requirements and keep things within a reasonable budget.Once we kicked off the project, it moved quickly and Nick did a fantastic job on keeping us informed and keeping the project on task.
