Last Minute Movers Boston is built around exactly what its name says: a Winthrop-based crew for moves booked with little or no notice, alongside piano moving, junk removal, storage, and long-distance relocation. The company describes itself as family-run across three generations serving the Boston Metro, though it gives no specific founding year. The record here is genuinely split. On one side, people who called in a pinch describe a team led by Michael and his brothers that showed up fast, worked with a smile, and got jobs done under real time pressure. On the other, a long run of one-star Google reviews stretching from 2022 through 2025 describes a very different experience: broken or scratched furniture, cash-only demands above the quoted price, a no-show for a scheduled unload, and one account describing withheld belongings and an unresolved reimbursement dragging on for months. Google's own page shows 4.5 stars from 100 ratings, but that headline number sits oddly next to how many of the individually readable reviews are critical — a gap worth noticing rather than averaging away. Get pricing in writing before the truck shows up: more than one review describes a quoted price changing on moving day, and payment disputes are a recurring theme. If anything goes wrong, be prepared to follow up — several reviewers describe slow or unresponsive follow-through on damage claims. This looks like an outfit that can genuinely deliver for a true last-minute, no-other-options situation, but the spread between the glowing and the alarming reviews is wide enough that it's worth a direct conversation about pricing, insurance, and how claims get handled before booking — and worth comparing against a second option if your move isn't actually urgent.

THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! I scheduled them to unload a Pods storage container at 9 am. I made multiple calls and texts and they only replied with "I will check on them". No more communication, did not answer the phone. I ended up hiring a last minute Taskrabbit. The quote was cheap, but not a reliable service.

Last Minute Movers were incredibly accommodating especially at the last minute. The movers were very friendly and fast and worked with a smile! I’d for sure use them again for any moving job I would have! Total thumbs up!!

Adrian and his team were nice but the service was not particularly good. In short, I've provided moving blankets and ratchet straps as requested in the email to find that most if not all moving accessories were left unused. Packing into the moving pod was illogical. I had everything packed, sealed, and stacked in identically sized boxes. I just needed help moving them into the pod but was surprised to find them scattered around, squished by furniture tossed above, and not strapped down. We paid for 3 individuals but got a 4th person for free. That was nice but goes to show how much they wanted to expedite the process and get out of here. I witnessed them damage our water pipe during moving process. They didn't say anything about repairs, coverage, or express concern. They recorded themselves in the home for advertisement material without my permission. Used my bathroom and didn't flush. As a single person overseeing 4 people move my boxes to the pod, I decided to swallow my frustrations and let them finish up rather than say anything.

Many many broken items. While unpacking I found many things broken and squished. They dropped something every trip and ignored fragile marked items. They threw stuff anywhere in my apartment and scratched my new matte fridge! I wish I knew of all broken and squished items pre tip! Chris is the most unprofessional, and needs to be watched. He’s spent whole time complaining about Mike taking on too many jobs and the next job while ignoring this one.
