A lot of the people who hired LDL found them after something went wrong somewhere else. In an August 2025 review a homeowner whose previous contractor took the money and disappeared said Matt had an estimate together fast and his crew re-did the framing the other outfit had left behind. A March 2026 customer came to them out of a difficult job with a previous contractor too. This is a Rockland design-build shop, and picking up other people's unfinished work is a good part of what it does. The everyday jobs are mid-size interiors: bathrooms, kitchens, basements turned into living space, and the occasional full rehab. Customers name who they dealt with far more than most — Mike Wilson, Josh, John Bailey, Heather in sales, Sam in the office, Matt the owner — which is how a design center with consultants works rather than one crew and a truck. In a September 2025 review a homeowner with a cape said other companies had either priced the load-bearing wall between the living room and kitchen out of reach or didn't want a job that small; LDL took it. A December 2025 customer had a bathroom fan fitted into a tight sloping attic; a November 2025 one lived in the house through two months of renovation. Three reviews run hard the other way, and they are specific. A December 2025 review says excavators struck the sewage drain because nobody called Dig Safe, and that the hole was left with no repair and no barrier around it, after which the owner refused further contact. A November 2025 customer updated an earlier review to say the kitchen LDL renovated the year before was poorly laid out, the island too close to the fridge. And a June 2024 review describes a kitchen, bath and living room signed at the end of 2022 and due in March 2023 that took a full year, with the plumbing permit still not closed when that homeowner wrote. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #195100, is active, and its BBB page is an A+. Much of the work comes through Thumbtack — two customers say that's where they found them — where the page sits at 4.5 across 115 ratings, alongside 4.6 from 57 Google ratings, with written accounts going back to 2019. For a bathroom, a kitchen or a basement you want designed and built by one company — especially if you're picking up after someone else — LDL is a reasonable call. Ask for your project manager by name, put the start and finish dates and who closes each permit in the contract, and settle up front what happens if a sub damages something on your property.
