One rating tells you nothing about whether crews arrive on schedule in June or whether a patio holds up through a New England freeze. If you are getting a quote, treat the 25-year claim as something to verify: ask how long the current crew has been together, get two or three recent local references you can actually call, and confirm insurance. Massachusetts does not require home improvement contractor registration for landscaping-only work — but if they build your patio or install a fence, ask whether that scope is covered and who pulls any permit needed.
