Lucena Painting

Lucena Painting is a Massachusetts painting contractor based in Oxford, working interior, exterior and cabinet painting jobs across Worcester, Middlesex and Norfolk counties for homes and businesses. The company is self-reported as founded in February 2023 and run by owner Luis, holds an active, registry-verified Massachusetts home improvement contractor license (#215893), and is a BBB-accredited business carrying an A grade. Homeowners who've hired the crew consistently single out cabinet refinishing work — repainting stained cherry cabinets, filling and sanding trim, converting doors to soft-close hinges, and color-matching custom finishes — alongside full-room interior painting covering kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms and hallways, plus some exterior painting and ceiling repair. Reviewers on Google, Angi, HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack describe crews that show up on schedule, keep multi-day job sites clean, and turn around detailed quotes quickly; several mention Luis walking through color choices and prep work in person before the crew starts and following up after completion to check the finish. The record runs from 2023 through 2026 and includes 23 reviews in the last six months, the large majority five-star. Before booking, it's worth asking how the company handles accidental damage to surfaces outside the scope of work: a review from January 2026 described a popcorn-ceiling repair job where an adjacent, undamaged sloped ceiling was damaged during the work, and the homeowner didn't describe it as resolved to their satisfaction. Separately, one review states general dissatisfaction and advises avoiding the company without describing what went wrong, so it's worth asking Lucena directly about how they handle a job that doesn't go as planned. For a homeowner weighing a cabinet refinishing or interior painting project — especially one involving custom or stained cabinetry — Lucena's licensing and the volume and specificity of its praise make it a reasonable one to interview. Worth confirming current availability, getting the estimate and timeline in writing, and asking directly about their process for handling any incidental damage during the job.
