Marcla Construction Inc. is a small carpentry and remodeling outfit that BuildZoom lists at 16 Henshaw St in Woburn, Massachusetts, though its Angi and HomeAdvisor listing gives a Chelsea address at 50 Watts St. The company describes itself as locally owned and operated, says "Se habla espanol", and its Thumbtack background check is filed under the name Mario Claros — the same Mario that a 2021 customer named when describing the crew that rebuilt her porch. The work homeowners actually hired them for is carpentry on the outside of the house. Building-permit records show four residential jobs in 2023 and 2024: siding and deck replacement in Winthrop valued at $87,816, deck replacements in Andover and Everett, and a kitchen and bathroom remodel in Somerville at $63,967. The directory service lists line up with that — decks and porches, framing, finish carpentry, siding, doors and windows, drywall — and Thumbtack adds bathroom and kitchen remodeling and handyman work. The written record is dated but consistent. Thumbtack shows 5.0 across eight ratings, all of them five-star, with five accounts readable from 2021 to 2023. In a 2021 review a homeowner said Mario and his team were punctual, communicated well and "completed the job flawlessly" on a new porch; another that year described a porch rebuilt after significant wood rot that drew compliments from neighbours; a third, writing about a roughly 300-year-old house, singled out the response time, cleanliness and punctuality. The most recent account, from June 2023, covered a slider installation that took longer than quoted because the crew went back to the store three times — the homeowner still called them professional and patient and noted they cleaned up before leaving. A fifth, from March 2021, covered a basement job and praised the crew for checking in before finishing. Two things are worth settling before you book. BuildZoom shows a single licence record, number 1979, that it could not verify, and states plainly that there is no active licence on file — that matters given the kitchen and bathroom remodel in its own permit list, so ask for the current registration number and check it with the state yourself. The company's stated age also moves around: its Angi listing claims 17 years of experience in the same paragraph that says over 10, and Thumbtack says 16 years alongside a claim of 20 employees the page does not otherwise evidence. This is a reasonable call for deck, porch, siding and trim carpentry, especially if you want a Spanish-speaking crew. Ask for the licence and insurance paperwork up front, and for recent references — the readable customer accounts stop in 2023.

Had work done in my basement. Understood what I wanted to be done. Excelente employees, respectful, clean. Always on time and always went above and beyond. Always made sure I was happy with the work and always asked if I liked the work or if I wanted to change anything. At the end of the project, i was very pleased with the work.
