Romero Hardwood Floors is a Revere flooring outfit that other contractors vouch for — one reviewer, describing himself as a contractor, called Francisco Romero-Ibarra's crew "the only hardwood team I will use," and another said he'd worked with them on "many different types of flooring projects." Owner Francisco Romero-Ibarra says he started doing flooring work in 2006 and formally incorporated the company in 2015, and the business now serves Revere and the towns around greater Boston: Newton, Cambridge, Somerville, Lynn, and more. Across 70 reviews from 2021 through 2026, the story is remarkably consistent: refinishing old hardwood, installing new hardwood and LVP, and matching new wood into homes with mismatched or worn original floors. A 2025 reviewer described the crew stripping, sanding, and applying three coats of water-based polyurethane on a 1940s white oak floor; another said Romero managed to match new flooring to a 1900s home's original boards so well "you can't even tell the difference." Reviewers repeatedly mention how carefully the crew protects the rest of the house — taping off cabinets, closets, and wall hangings before sanding — and how little dust ends up outside the work area. Eleven reviews landed in the last six months, all positive, on top of a 5-star Google average from 130 ratings and a Better Business Bureau A+ rating with zero complaints on file. The one blemish in an otherwise glowing record: a December 2025 review said a scheduled estimate visit never happened and the company didn't respond when asked what went wrong. It's an isolated account against dozens of jobs described as finished on time and on budget, but worth a quick confirmation call if a visit doesn't materialize as planned. The company holds an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, verified against the state registry. Its own site also lists bathroom and kitchen remodeling among its services, though the reviews here center almost entirely on flooring work. Romero Hardwood Floors reads like a strong pick for refinishing, new hardwood or LVP installation, or blending new flooring into an older home — especially if matching existing wood is part of the job.
I hired Romero Hardwood Floors Inc. to refinish my floors after a previous company did a rushed, poor-quality job in 2024 that just wasn't holding up. The results from Francisco and his team are absolutely stunning! Francisco and his entire crew are incredibly hard workers who take immense pride in what they do. I was highly stressed about the dust, but they took amazing care of my home, carefully covering my walls, and cabinets with protective sheets and tape beforehand. The pricing was fair, communication was clear, and they finished the multi-coat oil finish on schedule. I highly recommend them to anyone needing professional floor restoration!
Francisco and his team did an amazing job refinishing our hardwood floors. He completely refinished our stair treads and railings, and put in new balusters, which a lot of places won’t do. After seeing his work on the floors, we also asked him to help us with a few small jobs too. His pricing is fair, his teams are fast and good at what they do, and he’s great to work with. We are already talking to him about what else he can help us with in our new home!
Great crew. Quality shows in their work. Would highly recommend.
Excellent job with great care in keeping dust off walls and sensitive areas like cabinets, closets, pictures on the walls… all covered using painters tape and light weight plastic sheets… Communication and pricing was excellent Crews worked very hard and fast Split level house 3 rooms, closets and stair case all in 3 working days done with 1 day between 2nd and 3rd final coat- used oil based product Highly recommended Thanks Francisco and the Romero team!
I had several referrals for flooring contractors and I’m so glad I went with Romero. Responsive, reliable, accommodating, professional, and priced fairly. It’s no surprise that they have all 5-star reviews. I highly recommend and would use them again.
