Marquis Well & Pump is a Sanford well and pump company; it says it has been in business 20 years, offers 24/7 emergency service and lists well drilling, pump repair and installation and water filtration across a service area running from York and Cumberland to Brunswick and Old Orchard Beach. Google shows 4.9 stars from 497 ratings and HomeAdvisor 4.9 from 281. In October 2026 a customer wrote that Marquis came out the day after the call and diagnosed a leak in a 40-year-old main water pipe in the yard; Randy, the owner, explained the course of action he recommended, and the pipe was replaced a day later. That reviewer also thanked Tom, Randy's dad, and Rick. In June 2026 a reviewer whose well had stopped delivering water said the crew arrived first thing, found a faulty pump switch within minutes, proposed replacing the out-of-spec tank too, and had everything running in an hour. In a March 2025 review, a customer said Nick replaced a 51-year-old two-line pump setup with a new one-line system in just over two hours. In October 2026 a customer described Nick assessing high sediment in their water lines the day after it appeared, running a water test and giving two options with a cost breakdown for both. “I started leaving messages early and had people get back with me throughout the day. Randy from “Marquis Well & Pump” (207) 459-0720 made it here first and was able to get us sorted with a new pump and pressure tank. Others have said the price was reasonable. Honorable mentions for both Joe at “Stanley Well & Pump Repair” (207) 459-0720 and “A-Z Water Systems” (207) 459-0720 who returned my messages and were very courteous and friendly over the phone. This is was our first experience with well issues (thankfully!), but if you’re in the MidCoast region any of those guys might be able to help”
We tried the rest and then we found the best! Marquis Well and Pump answered the phone when we called and came out to assess the problem the very next day. They got it right when they diagnosed our problem: the main water pipe in our yard needed to be replaced due to a leak in the existing 40 year old pipe. Randy, the owner, took the time to explain the course of action he recommended and why, patiently answering our many questions. It was only one day later that they came out and replaced the pipe. Before the day was over, the work was done! Randy, a man of his word and a man with a big heart, delivered on everything he said. Also, shoutout to Tom, his dad, who brought the charm and the funk, and most especially to Rick, whose work ethic, expertise, and kind, respectful manner is a rarity to find these days! Don't waste your time calling any other company. Marquis answered on the first ring, came out the next day, had the work done the day after that, cleaned up afterward, and all for a more than fair price! We are so grateful to all! Can we leave more than 5 stars? They deserve 100!
Nick came to our home to assess a water issue the next day after we experienced high sediment in our water lines. He was thorough and explained the options to remedy the problem quickly. He provided a water test before he left that day and asked his boss Randy to expedite the process for us as this was our only water source. He explained that there were new fissures that opened up mixing the silt and iron in our well. He gave us two options and the cost breakdown for both. For the installation, Allen came by a few days later with the filtration system and results from our water test. He worked very quickly and had the whole system piped in only a few hours. They both were very informative and kind. This is a great company and their work was backed with a three year warranty. Allen didn’t leave until all of my questions were answered. I strongly recommend them if you’re looking for a well or service. Thank you for the great service today. Our water looks great.
Lost water pressure from well. I tried to contact the company that installed the well to no avail. Called Marquis and they fixed the problem the next day. We are so thankful for the timely attention to our lack of water! Highly recommended
We hired Marquis to install a new well and pump and the team was great. Randy answered texts quickly and informatively, even on a Sunday. He was flexible with our building schedule and walked us through the new installation process.
I called Marquis Well & Pump on a Saturday evening after having an issue with my well. They were incredibly responsive and friendly and willing to come the next morning. I was able to resolve my own issue before I needed them, but I was truly impressed with their customer service and will use them for any issues going forward.
