Two names come up over and over in Martino Glass's reviews: Kyle and Scott. They appear in write-ups from 2024 through early 2026 — a broken second-floor window and a glass slab set over a kitchen island, a French door pane, an emergency door at someone's workplace that had to be color-matched to the building. Read enough of them and it starts to feel like a small crew customers got to know by name. The company works out of 122 Tyler Street in Pittsfield and covers the Berkshires. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active and held in the company's own name. The BBB accredits it, grades it A+, and carries the company's own description of itself as a family-owned, locally owned business; a Berkshire Eagle obituary for John Martino says he established the shop in 1969. Failed insulated glass is the bread and butter. A March 2026 customer had the center pane of a bay window replaced after the seal let go, and another in May 2025 described the same repair on a front bay window, done in one visit with the mess cleaned up. In October 2025 a homeowner swapped old single panes for insulated units. The harder jobs land here too — in September 2025 someone with a cracked 40-year-old wall panel, eight feet by eight, said Martino was the only Berkshires company that would take on the measurement and the install. There is a retail counter behind all that: cut glass, Lexan, tabletops, screens and storms. A November 2024 reviewer dropped off Lexan work and picked it up the next morning, and a 2021 customer had an order ready the same day. Reviews from late 2024 also mention a sister location, Lenox Glass, filling and repairing orders alongside the Pittsfield shop. On Google the company sits at 4.6 across 41 ratings, with written reviews running 2021 to 2026, and BuildZoom's permit history lists 53 permitted projects. The thing worth pinning down is scheduling. In November 2022 a customer wrote that after being referred for major door issues he was strung along for about a month, made roughly six follow-up calls without answers, and was finally told to go elsewhere — the sharpest complaint in nine years of reviews, and about getting on the calendar rather than the workmanship. A milder version turns up in 2017, when a reviewer recalled a job stretching out while the company dealt with the town. In a May 2025 review of an office door, the customer had to call the team back to slow a door that was slamming, and said they returned quickly. If you need a pane, a shower enclosure, a storefront door or a piece of glass cut to size in Berkshire County, this is a straightforward call.
