Massmoving

Eighty-eight Google ratings and a flat 5.0 average — and the reviews behind that number keep circling the same two things: how fast the crew works and what it costs. Massmoving runs out of Brookline and covers Boston and the Greater Boston towns. The company says it has been moving people since 2014, and lists three kinds of work: hourly local moves, long-distance relocations, and a smaller man-with-a-van service for one-piece jobs. That range shows in what customers describe. One July 2026 customer hired them for a Boston-to-Salisbury move and said the pricing came in as expected. Another had MJ and Hassan shift furniture around the house so the floors could be refinished, working out together where each piece should go. In June 2026 someone needed one heavy piece of furniture moved the same day and had it done within a few hours of finding the company online. A March 2026 reviewer had a piano packed and moved, and said the other piano company they called charged an arm and a leg. Careful handling is the other thing several customers raise: furniture arriving without a scratch, boxes and furniture coming through without issue, and one move carried out in the rain with everything covered and nothing damaged. MJ's name turns up in several accounts, both on the job and in the back-and-forth before it. The written history stretches back further than this year's run — in a 2018 Thumbtack review, a customer described a two-bedroom apartment move where the crew dropped off and collected crates and carried them up four flights of stairs. For an apartment or house move around Greater Boston, especially one that has to happen on short notice, this is a straightforward call. Before booking, get the hourly rate, the crew size and the travel time written into the quote, and ask what coverage applies to your belongings while they are on the truck.
