Massmoving is a Brookline-based moving company built around care with awkward, high-stakes items — the piano nobody else wants to touch, the antique dresser you're nervous about, a whole storage unit's worth of boxes. Across 85 reviews collected since 2018, spanning five sources, the pattern rarely breaks: no complaint anywhere on file, and the volume has picked up sharply — 78 of those reviews landed in just the last six months. The specifics repeat instead of generic praise. One review describes a piano moved without a scratch for a price the customer called far cheaper than a specialist piano-moving quote elsewhere; another describes a house's worth of furniture shuffled around to let the floors get refinished, with the crew — named as MJ and Hassan — working out where everything should temporarily go, careful with a couple of nervous-making antique pieces along the way. On Google, 88 ratings sit at a 5.0 average, and on Thumbtack, 6 ratings do the same; reviewers keep naming the same manager, MJ, as the point of contact who answers questions and, in one account, comes to the site to check the job went well. Other reviews describe tricky logistics handled cleanly: a same-day move for a heavy piece of furniture found online just hours earlier, a February move into storage during a snow emergency, a cross-state relocation from Boston to New York. In a 2018 Thumbtack review — the oldest account on file — a customer praised the crew's communication about dropping off and picking up moving crates, and for carrying everything up four flights of stairs to a top-floor apartment. It's an old account, but the same responsiveness shows up in the newest reviews too. There's nothing to flag before booking — no lapsed license, no government action, and no negative review anywhere in the record to weigh against the praise. The one thing worth knowing is that most of what's on file is short-form Google praise rather than long written accounts, so the play-by-play on any specific job comes from a smaller set of longer reviews. For a local move, a piano, or a storage consolidation where you want the crew to actually be careful, Massmoving's history backs that up — just confirm your exact route and flag any specialty items, like a piano or antiques, when you book.

Mo and his team were great. They were efficient, friendly and on time. The pricing came in as expected and was reasonable. I would hire them again and highly recommend! We hired them for a move from Boston to Salisbury.
Great and fast service!
Professional and efficient team! They were respectful and responsive to making pivots during the move. The owner was commutative and came to the site to check on satisfaction. The team was very careful, strong, and methodical with the furniture. Fair pricing and we appreciated they accept e-payments.
I was very pleased with the service provided by MJ and Hassan. Mine wasn't a typical move. I was moving furniture around my house in order to refinish the floors. MJ and Hassan were very collaborative as we tried to figure out where everything should go, where it would fit, etc. We also had a couple of big, antique pieces of furniture which I was nervous about moving but they were super careful with them. Beyond that, the job was easy to book and MJ was very communicative. I highly recommend MassMoving!
Most likely better than any competitor in the area and U-Haul. Efficient and professional quality. Real work with real people without compromise and truly value the customer's time. Recommended. Feel feel to contact them with any inquiry. Even more amazing people who truly care.
