When I say Josh and his team at Matrix Interior Construction saved my basement, I mean it literally. My basement started as a disaster — crooked framing, exposed insulation, damaged ceilings, uneven walls, and an overall unsafe mess left behind by a previous contractor. We tried to fix it ourselves, but after the first layer of mudding and sanding, we realized just how far out of our league we were. I was referred to Matrix Interior Construction Inc., and from the moment Josh stepped in, everything changed. He immediately understood the scope of the issues and explained — with visuals — what needed to be done and how they were going to bring the basement back to life. Some of their work included but not all mentioned: • Finishing all drywall properly • Installing an entirely new ceiling • Remodeling and opening up the staircase • Correcting code issues • Preparing the space for flooring and even recommending an excellent flooring installer The transformation is unbelievable. Looking at my before-and-after photos, you wouldn’t think it’s the same space. What was once dark, cramped, and unsafe is now open, bright, and absolutely beautiful. Josh pays close attention to every detail and genuinely cares about the quality of work he and his team deliver. He isn’t just a manager — he jumps in, works alongside his guys, and makes sure everything is right. He is also easy to reach, quick to respond, and incredibly clear in communication, which gave me so much peace of mind throughout the entire renovation. One of the biggest challenges was that I have over 2,500 lbs of fish tanks, and the Matrix team was extremely careful, patient, and respectful while working around them. They maneuvered everything safely without any issues. And for the level of quality they delivered, the pricing was very reasonable. They didn’t overcharge or try to upsell — just honest work at a fair price. I honestly didn’t think transforming this basement was possible, considering how many problems it had — but they proved me wrong. The space is completely unrecognizable now, in the best possible way.
