Verified record
Mauricio F Rosa works out of Medford, and the permit record says electrician: 33 permitted projects on BuildZoom's books, electrical the dominant type. BuildZoom lists Massachusetts electrician, construction supervisor and home improvement contractor registrations for him, along with a fourth construction supervisor licence it marks inactive and says was at one point cancelled — directory records, not confirmations, so verify the numbers yourself. The written record is old and it is bad. A single review, posted in June 2013, describes a kitchen tiling job the customer said came out so uneven you could trip on it. She wrote that he called the floor "perfect" and refused responsibility, that a BBB complaint went unanswered, and that she took him to small claims court and won — then won again on his appeal. Nothing has been written since, so there is no way to tell whether the practices she described still hold thirteen years on. Worth noting too: the complaint is about tile work, while the permit history and the licence that BuildZoom lists as active point at electrical. His BuildZoom score of 89 sits in the 30th percentile of Massachusetts contractors. If you are considering him for electrical work, ask for two or three recent local references, check the electrician licence number directly with the state board, and get the scope and price in writing before anyone starts.

Mauricio Rosa tiled my kitchen. He did an absolutely horrible job. So bad, in fact, that one could easily trip - that's how uneven the floor was. Mr. Rosa refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. He actually continually stated the floor was "perfect". After many attempts to have him rectify the situation, I registered a complaint with the BBB, to which he did not respond. The BBB finally suggested I take him to small claims court, which I did. I easily won. Mr. Rosa appealed the decision. I won once again. Both court magistrate and judge stated, unequivocally, that they would never accept such poor workmanship. Not only did the floor need to torn up and retailed, but the condition in which he left my home and personal belongs will cost thousands to repair. Watch out for this man. He comes across as very charming but he is manipulative and more importantly, his work is unacceptable as his work ethic. WARNING: Do not hire Mauricio Rosa or use his company, Homeworks of Mass General Contractors. I promise, you will regret it!!! Frankly, even 1 star is too many!!!
