MDH Asphalt Paving and excavating

A driveway can involve much more than the asphalt surface. In a February 2023 Google review, one MDH customer described excavation of large tree root balls, more than 600 yards of clean fill moved and graded, and 50 blocks weighing over a ton each used to build a precast wall. Regrading and drainage, including conduits beneath the driveway and parking pad, preceded three layers of asphalt. The customer said Mike responded promptly to questions and concerns. MDH Asphalt & Excavating says it began as a residential paving contractor in 1987 and grew into large-scale commercial paving while remaining family-owned and operated. Based in East Sandwich, it describes a Cape Cod service area from Bourne and Sandwich through Provincetown. Its advertised work includes driveway and commercial paving, asphalt milling, curbing, drainage, repairs, excavation and sports-court installation. In a June 2024 review, a private-road customer said MDH offered several repair options and delivered the promised timing and quality at a price they praised. A June 2023 driveway customer credited Mike and the crew with leaving the site neat and clean after paving. Another customer, writing in September 2021, said the crew installed a new driveway quickly and kept the work within budget. A May 2024 reviewer also praised Mike and the crew for work delivered on time and on budget. The company has a Google rating of 4.9 from 23 ratings. A more recent written account, posted in February 2026, described driveway plowing that began one night and was finished the following day with a Bobcat. Follow-up drew a specific complaint in October 2024. That reviewer said two calls for a seal-coating estimate went unanswered. They then reported a crack in a driveway MDH had installed the previous fall; according to the customer, a project manager inspected it, but the crack remained unrepaired and communication stopped. The complaint concerns both returning calls and addressing a problem after installation.
