Crumbling stairs and failing foundation mortar are the jobs people call L. DeAngelis & Sons for, and the "Sons" is literal: Rob DeAngelis and his son Anthony are the names customers write about. The Watertown masonry company says it was founded in 1960 by Luciano DeAngelis and is now run by his sons Franco and Robert and grandson Anthony. Its BBB profile gives 1967 as the founding year. In a June 2026 Google review, a homeowner described Rob and Anthony turning front and back stairs of "dangerous crumbling concrete" into safe ones using select granite and fieldstone, with no cash asked up front until the homeowners were happy with the project. Foundations come up again and again. In a January 2026 review, a customer said Robert DeAngelis and his son sealed numerous small gaps in a stone foundation and the larger gaps between the foundation and the wooden edges of the garage under the house, and squeezed the smaller job in before winter despite a late-season call. In a 2024 review, a homeowner with a hundred-year-old house said Rob and Anthony repointed crumbling foundation mortar that had been letting rodents in, kept the job site clean, and came back a week later to wash the bricks. Patios are the other steady line of work. A July 2025 reviewer had an old patio torn out and replaced with a paver patio, a wall along two sides and a drain in the corner where the patio angled, and said the bid came in lower than others. In an April 2025 review, a couple who had the company rebuild a story-and-a-half brick stairway in 2016 hired them back when their front steps began crumbling. On Google the business shows 5 stars from 17 ratings, with written reviews going back to 2022. Robert DeAngelis holds an active Massachusetts construction supervisor license, CS-101997.
Rob and Anthony DeAngelis far exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only was their bid price reasonable, but their work ethic, craftsmanship, details, materials, interpersonal skills, all were impeccable. They are honest, asking for no cash upfront until we the homeowners were satisfied with the project. They are easily the best tradesmen we have ever worked with and we highly recommend their services. They transformed our front and back stairs from dangerous crumbling concrete to safe and beautiful condition, using select granite and fieldstone elements, taking the time to make every detail perfect. We are forever grateful to you, Rob and Anthony!
Robert DeAngelis and his son did an excellent job repairing numerous small gaps in our stone foundation and they also repaired the larger gaps that had formed between the stone foundation and the wooden edges of the garage under the house. I really appreciate that they were willing to take on this smaller-scale job and that they worked to fit me in their schedule before the winter hit - despite my calling so late in the season. The work was beautifully done. I would not hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them!
Rob and Anthony do outstanding work. Their attention to detail and ability to create great looking outdoor solutions is second to none. Great work, great communication and great guys. We can’t wait to get them back out for another patio project. Thanks Rob & Anthony! - Russ
We had L Deangelis and Sons put in a new patio replacing our old one. Rob demolished our old patio, and put in a beautiful paver patio and wall (along 2 sides of the patio). He put a drain in the corner of the wall where the patio angled towards. The work was well engineered and seemlessly executed. The work was excellent and the bid lower than others. While they did the job Rob was always reachable and communicative and they worked right through till they were done. I will be using L. Deangelis and Sons for future masonry jobs.
L. DeAngelis had rebuilt our outdoor cement brick stairway (about a story and a half worth) in 2016, and had done such an amazing job we put their information away in a file just in case we needed them again. Sure enough, we did this year. The front part of our steps, left over from the original contractor who built the house, had started crumbling. We were thrilled to get them back, and just like in 2016 they exceeded our expectations in 2025. Just for note my wife and I were very happy to see the business is indeed L. DeAngelis and SONS. The skill and tradition is being carried on, and we are thankful for it!
