Mei Huang is an owner-operated builder in Malden whose visible history is a permit record rather than a review file. BuildZoom counts 11 permitted projects under the name, including Boston-area interior gut renovations filed between 2021 and 2024, and scores the business 94 — which it says places it in the top 24% of Massachusetts licensed contractors. No customer has posted a review there. On licensing, BuildZoom says it verified an active Massachusetts construction supervisor licence, CS-115031, in July 2026. It also shows a Home Improvement Contractor registration, number 189016, as inactive, citing the state Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation that the status was at one point cancelled. In Massachusetts that registration is the one that covers nonstructural residential home improvement work, so it is the first thing to ask about. Plausible for a permitted interior renovation where a construction supervisor licence is what the job needs. Before hiring, ask directly for the current HIC registration number and status, and for certificates of liability and workers' compensation insurance.
