Its Procore profile counts 60 projects and a crew of 10 to 50. The company says MG Painting started in 2010 and was restructured as MG Painting Contractors LLC in 2018, and describes itself as an SDO-certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise working across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Its BBB page names Ms. Dawn Gambardella as owner, carries an A+ grade, and publishes no complaints and no government actions. The homeowner side is smaller but consistent: 8 Google ratings averaging 5 stars, with six written accounts running from 2022 to this April. Prep is what customers describe, not just paint. In a December 2024 review, a homeowner who had a townhouse painted top to bottom, cabinets included, wrote that walls needing a lot of repair were handled flawlessly, that color samples came before any decisions, and that a ceiling touch-up nobody else had flagged got pointed out. This April a customer described the same rhythm — walls inspected, surfaces prepared properly, the job finished on time and the space left clean. One 2022 reviewer brought them in to fix a small job another painter had ruined; another that year said the work came in faster than quoted, and a third said they had hired the crew several times. Two things are worth pinning down before you call. Its own site describes a commercial painting contractor, so if you want a house repainted, ask directly whether they take work at that size — the residential jobs in its reviews say yes, but it isn't what the company leads with. And the tenure figures don't line up: the site's 2010 founding reads as 16 years, while BBB dates the business to February 2018 and calls it 8. The 2018 LLC restructuring the site mentions probably explains the gap, but it's a fair question. The credentials it advertises — WBE certification through the state SDO, DCAMM with a 98 evaluation score, EPA Lead-Safe Renovator, a state apprentice program, OSHA 10 across the crew — are the company's own statements, so ask for the certificates if any of them bear on your job. For a straightforward interior repaint, especially one where wall repair and color choices matter, this is a reasonable call to make — with the caveat that the calendar is largely commercial.
