Midcoast Glass & Windows is a Topsham glass shop whose jobs run from home windows and screens to car windshields. A 2025 customer said they replaced broken or failed insulated glass on several windows and upgraded the glazing on four more with Low-E glass, taking the sashes to their shop. A 2022 customer said all of the windows in their house were replaced and called the pricing reasonable compared to other quotes. A 2023 customer said a large front bay window the company installed came loose a few years later; they wrote that the crew came back within a couple of days to pull the window and make the repairs, and that Jessica told them the repair was covered. The company describes itself as family owned and operated, and its website names Alfred Brown as the owner. Windshields are a steady part of the work. A 2023 customer said they installed a replacement windshield on a 1986 Porsche 911 and salvaged the 37-year-old gasket. A 2026 customer said the trim and sensors were set before they left after a windshield replacement. A recent customer said a windshield the company installed began whistling; after the car was dropped off, an employee said the windshield was tight and pointed to the weather stripping or sunroof, and the customer wrote that taping the windshield stopped the sound. A 2023 customer said the company came out to do an estimate and never called back with it.
Customer service is outstanding! Even though it's the start of a holiday weekend, I felt like his most important customer! Thank you MCG&W!!
My husband had two windshields installed from this company. One on his vehicle, and one for my vehicle. No issues with my husband's windshield. Mine, however, from the beginning, there has been an issue. I started hearing a small whistling sound at first when driving , I wasn't sure where it was coming from, so I brought it into a garage and I was informed that it was coming from the windshield. As time has gone on, the whistling sound has become extremely loud, especially when it's windy. I called your office and told the person what the problem was, I was told to drop my vehicle off in the morning, which my husband did every day last week until you were able to get to it. Thursday February 12, my husband went to pick up the vehicle and was told by one of your employees (who either doesn't care, or doesn't have a clue what they are doing) that they pressure checked my windshield and that it is tight, no air pockets, or whatever it is called. That, the reason why I am hearing a whistling sound is because of the weather stripping on my car doors/windows, or it's my sunroof, because it doesn't close correctly. The problem with that is, the "weather stripping, and or sunroof" have never made that sound EVER!! So we buy 2 windshields from you, have an issue with one, and after dropping it off for a week, I'm being told I have no clue what I'm talking about.. I told the person at the desk, the whistling sound STARTED after they installed the windshield. I went and bought electrical tape and taped the crap out of my windshield on the outside....AND GUESS WHAT... DO IT .. GUESS... ABSOLUTELY NO WHISTLING SOUND, That is unacceptable business practice, I will be submitting complaint.
I received outstanding service & support from Midcoast Glass on the crack in my car windshield: professional, polite, caring, considerate, top-notch. A small, 2d generation, family-owned business. They are also very patriotic & supportive of Veterans. What’s not to love? Thank you 🇺🇸💪🙏 #shoplocal #MidcoastMaine #Mainebiz #MaineVeterans #TopshamMaine
I’ve had my car windows serviced there multiple times and each time I’ve been very satisfied. They go above and beyond to make sure the service they’re providing is excellent, and their pricing is consistently better than other larger companies. Highly recommend!
I had my windshield replaced by Midcoast Glass and Windows and the whole experience was excellent. From the first phone call to the finished installation, everything was smooth and professional. They got me scheduled quickly, explained the process clearly, and the technician did a fantastic job. The new windshield looks perfect and the installation was done carefully and cleanly. They even made sure all the trim and sensors were properly set before I left. You can tell they take pride in doing the job right. If you need a windshield replaced or any glass work done, I highly recommend Midcoast Glass and Windows. Great service and great workmanship.
