In October 2021 a homeowner showed Mike Roma the giant green arborvitaes they had just bought for their property. He told them it was the wrong tree for the spot, and they wrote that it saved them a long-term problem. A year later another customer said he came out, made his recommendations and never pushed extra work — the estimate was the price, with no surprises at the end. Roma runs a tree service out of Harwich and states he is a certified arborist, with the company working in and around the town for more than 20 years; its HomeAdvisor listing puts the business start at 2008. The work is pruning, removals, stump grinding and branch trimming, and customers write in from across the Cape — a swamp maple in Yarmouth, jobs in South Dennis, the dead and fallen trees at the Federated Church of Orleans. Google shows a 5.0 average across 63 ratings; HomeAdvisor sits at 4.9 across 49. What people repeat is the tree talk. A customer of ten years, writing in November 2025, said Roma explains how to keep trees healthy while protecting the house and roof — advice they ignored once, and lichen went on to damage a newly installed roof. In October 2025 a homeowner who needed a large maple pruned said the crew arrived exactly on schedule, made suggestions, and did not leave the tree looking bare. In March 2024 another had him out simply to assess the health of a tree the family was attached to. Hazard work comes up as often. He cleared a downed tree and a large branch after the blizzard in February 2026. In August 2023 a customer lost a 30-foot pine on a Wednesday, called, and had a crew on site Friday at 11. In April 2025 another pointed him at a large pine limb hanging over the power lines along the highway. Cleanup gets mentioned almost every time: raking and blowing the grounds, debris hauled off, one 2021 customer saying the yard was left as clean as the crew found it, and a 2023 customer noting the machine that reached a back yard without tearing it up. Plan ahead for anything that is not an emergency — one 2023 customer was quoted three to four weeks and was surprised when the crew came the following week. If you want someone who will tell you a tree can be saved, or that the one you just bought belongs somewhere else, have him walk the property before you price the work.
