Mike Ward Jr Electrician is a one-man Rockland operation (occasionally working alongside a helper named Dana) with a genuinely large, consistent record: 184 Google ratings and 112 written reviews dating back to 2021, every one of them five stars, plus an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. The thing that shows up again and again is speed under real pressure. A tree tore the electrical mast and wires off one customer's house while they were away for a holiday, leaving them without power in frigid temperatures — Mike had them back up and running within hours. Another customer noticed a problem around 8pm and had him there the next morning, walking through every step of what he found. In a 2021 review, a homeowner described a different electrician failing to properly wire a new gas boiler, leaving them without heat for a week; Mike came out on Christmas Eve morning, within an hour, found the mis-wired connection, fixed it, and tried to undercharge for the visit. That same diagnostic instinct shows up on trickier technical jobs. In a 2023 review, a homeowner described a 20-year-old 200-amp panel with three subpanels whose main breaker had started tripping and running hot; Mike tracked down a discontinued replacement breaker and had it overnighted rather than leave the panel unsafe. More recent reviews describe him wiring a 240V garage outlet and troubleshooting an EV charging circuit, running new electrical for a full addition on a house dating to the early 1700s (untangling decades of prior rewiring in the process), and handling everyday work — ceiling fans, sconces, chandeliers, kitchen appliance hookups, dryer receptacles — with the same on-time, clean, well-communicated approach reviewers keep describing. Recent activity backs up that this isn't a fading pattern: 15 reviews in just the last six months, all five stars, still describing same-day and next-day response times. The one thing worth knowing going in: this is a small operation built around one electrician plus occasional help, so for anything non-urgent it's worth confirming his schedule up front — though the record suggests urgent calls rarely wait long.

Mike was professional, responsive and reasonably priced. Had a couple minor issues (i.e. lights flickering/shutting off in kitchen etc.). Mike came out next day and quickly resolved the issue. Local to Rockland. Would recommend.
Fast service. Called them with a smoke detector issue. They quickly resolved the problem with the wiring.
Two words--Hire Him. Mike Ward expertly handled a complex electrical job that was part of a new septic system installation. He and his crew came fully prepared and the project was completed perfectly the first time. Kudos. Oh, one more thing. I had an accent light in the front of the house that had gotten dull. I figured it need replacing, so I called Mike. It is a small job for him, but still he came the same day I texted him and, after some tinkering, the light came back on full volume! He genuinely has the magic-electrical touch.
Highly recommend Mike Ward for any electrical services you may need. He was responsive and communicative before the appointment and was upfront about his schedule and timing. We enjoyed having him work on our home and our garage and will certainly be recommending him on the South Shore and using him again if we need any electrical help. Thank you, Mike!
Great to work with! Highly recommend for whatever job you need done.
