Lighthouse Electrical Contracting

Lighthouse Electrical Contracting is a Hingham-based union electrical contractor working mainly on commercial and institutional projects — fire alarm, low-voltage/tel-data, and solar PV installation across Greater Boston. Founded in 2002 by president and journeyman electrician Herbert Aikens as an IBEW Local 103 signatory, it's grown from a one-man shop to a field crew of more than 100 electricians and technicians. The written reviews describe repeat, institutional relationships rather than one-off residential jobs. A 2025 review describes subcontracting Lighthouse's services over 15 years, calling every stage from quote to execution smooth. Another reviewer, who's used the company for multiple schools, called the team incredibly responsive, efficient, knowledgeable, and impeccable in craftsmanship — with the only complaint being that they aren't available nationwide. A 2023 review describes Isaac assessing and fixing a small project within a day, with excellent workmanship. The company also won a 2021 ConstructSecure Gold Safety Award. Given the scale of its usual work — commercial construction, school contracts, fire alarm and low-voltage systems — this looks better suited to larger or institutional electrical projects than a routine home repair call, though the one small-project review suggests they'll take on smaller work too; it's worth asking directly about fit for a residential job.
