Mim's Oil Co delivers home heating oil; its website says the team has served Connecticut for years, delivering affordable oil, and lists a service area that includes Berlin, Branford, Bristol, Cheshire, Cromwell and Guilford. Its BBB page is an A+, and on Google it holds 4 stars from 25 ratings. A 2024 customer recommended Mims for home heating oil deliveries and called them quick, reasonable and friendly. A 2024 customer who has oil delivered to a property said Colleen was friendly and the delivery was contactless, with no hassle. A 2025 customer said they had used MIMS for years with no complications. A recent customer says a delivery time was changed from one day to the next, and that when they asked about it, staff told them the delivery could be cancelled if they did not like the time and refused to give the name of a boss. A recent customer says a delivery that needed a tank inspection was scheduled for a day they took off work, then moved to an evening window, and never arrived; the company said it came at 10:37 pm and saw no lights on, which the customer disputes. A 2025 customer said the person on the phone insisted they leave the home unlocked for a tank inspection before delivery, ignored a request to send pictures instead, and offered to cancel the order when they declined.
Had the worse experience this morning with their customer service specifically STACY and SHARON!! Nasty individuals who should not be answering the phones. When asked about my delivery time (after it was changed from yesterday to today) was pretty much told If I don’t like the time my delivery can be cancelled. When asked to speak to someone above them they refused and wouldn’t even give me a name of their boss. They said I don’t need his name and that he wouldn’t want to be bothered with these types of complaints 😳. I’m sure he would care to loose hundreds of dollars behind this! I hope the owner sees this review and others that have made complaints about the customer service. They are going to loose customers if nothing changes.
I Placed an order 5/01, someone called and stated they needed to come and do an inspection at delivery. Ok, no problem. Scheduled for 5/5. I took the day from work to be home and available. No one showed up by 3pm so I decided let me give them a call and find out what time they are arriving. Someone else said it was out for an evening delivery and that can come anywhere between 4-10pm. Not only was that inconsiderate to the original scheduled requirement of needing to be inspected and someone having to be home, I have children that have afternoon activities and tutoring. I was told he would going by between the hours of 7-9pm. Ok fine. I called my older son to come by and await the delivery. They still never showed up!!! I called this morning 5/6 and they stated they tried coming to my house at 1037pm and there was no lights on. BS. Not only was the front porch light on, my oldest son was downstairs awaiting the arrival. Horrible customer service. More of an inconvenience than it’s worth. Save yourself time, energy and effort and look elsewhere.
Very rude girl on phone. Asked me to leave my home unlocked so they can inspect my tank before delivery. I get it...but she ignored my questions to find a alternative solution about sending pictures and ignored me when I asked if they can come early in a.m or late in day. She just kept insisting on leaving my home unlocked. Then when I said I dont feel comfortable she immediately said I'll cancle your order. Horrible customer service.
