Big trees close to the house are the job people call Minnechaug Tree and Landscape Inc for. A 2025 customer wrote that the company removed two silver maple trees just feet from the home and ground the stumps. A 2025 customer said a 100+ foot tall white pine next to the house was removed while the work stayed within the limited access area. Its Google rating stands at 4.8 stars from 47 ratings. On its own website the company names Glastonbury, Middletown, Hartford and New Britain as its service area, and lists tree removal, pruning, stump removal, cabling and land clearing among its services. A recent customer said the company trimmed some trees, including a crab apple whose branches were hitting the roof and side of the house, and used pads so the bucket truck did not damage the lawn. A 2025 customer said Foreman Chris reviewed the job with them before work started on a river birch and the tree line at the back of the property. A 2025 customer described six trees removed and the stumps ground. A 2024 customer said they were careful of a newly planted small tree while removing an older one, and ground three stumps in a morning. A 2023 customer said a diseased beech tree nestled among large rhododendron bushes was dropped in the designated spot and the wood cut to the desired lengths. A 2023 customer said Mike helped with a fairly large tree planting job. In a 2012 Angi review, a customer said they called Mike the morning after an October snowstorm left them trapped by trees, and he arrived the next day to clear them out. A 2022 customer said the crew pruned all but one tree, which was simply overlooked. In a 2013 Angi review, a customer said it took weeks to get a call back both before and after the estimate, and that the company came to do the work only after the customer reached out to Angie's List.
They did a great job trimming some trees, especially a crab apple tree which had branches hitting the roof and side of the house, without damaging my lawn in the process with the bucket truck by using pads. Very professional, friendly, responsive, and a fair price. Contrast this with a cut above tree service , who destroyed my front lawn when their truck got stuck in the yard and left huge ruts in the process when I had them remove a maple tree in my back yard back in December. They did not use any plywood or pads.
Thanks to Minnechaug Tree for giving our river birch a needed haircut, and for carefully cutting back and raising the tree line at the back of the property. Foreman Chris reviewed the job with us to start, and the crew were safe, respectful and thorough. Great job, guys!
Several tall trees removed with care, on time, and with great communications. I have recommended them to friends already. They did great and would recommend them to anyone.
Quoting process was easy and seemed fair. They answered all the questions I had and made recommendations based on what they saw. Very happy with the work that was done (i.e. removing six trees and grinding the stumps) and the crew was friendly. Definitely recommend.

Their crew not only removed both trees with precision and care, but also ground the stumps and left the worksite cleaner than they found it—which is no small feat!
