Morry Remediation Solutions does mold remediation. On HomeAdvisor it describes itself as a locally owned house cleaning and mold remediation business in business since 2007. A local news site, golocalprov.com, reported that the CRLB ordered Williams, the company's owner, on May 8, 2018 to pay $82,550 in restitution to a homeowner who paid him to complete demolition and mold remediation at a home in Pawtucket. A 2024 customer said sections of ceilings and walls were removed for mold, then found no signs of mold in the bags of drywall his crew brought out. A 2017 customer wrote that demolition was done in several places without permits and that the house was left unfinished. A 2016 customer said the company removed attic mold in a condo before a sale and provided a certificate transferable to the new owner for 1 year. A 2016 customer said the basement remediation, removal of impacted items and painting were completed quickly.
“Williams is the owner of Morry Remediation Solutions and was ordered by the CRLB on May 8, 2018 to pay $82,550 in restitution to a homeowner who paid Williams to complete demolition and mold remediation at a home in Pawtucket. The CRLB found that Williams did not complete the work as contracted and that the work he did complete was substandard.”
Alvin from Morry Remediation and Solutions responded to a I request posted on Angi on 9/2/2024 needing mold removed from basement stating that he could do a walkthrough and spray any mold that evening. He arrived that evening with his son, (introduced as Morry) and I brought him to the basement. While viewing the basement he sated that he had a chemical that would safely remove the mold. After we returned to the main floor he started looking at our ceilings an stated that the dark areas on the ceiling were caused by mold and that the outer sections of the ceiling and top sections of the walls must be removed. He stated that his crew could remove those sections and assured me that his plasterer would be able to replicate the ceiling patterns. We sat down with my husband and started discussing prices. It came up that we were also in contact with roofers and had received one bid. He asked what amount the roofer was asking. When we told him, he said he could do the work for much less. While we were discussing what needed to be done and the cost, he sent his son down to the basement to spray the floors and walls. After further discussion we signed a contract agreeing to pay $17,000.00 for removal of the mold and replacement of the roof and gutters. We gave him an initial deposit of $5,600.00. At some point I mentioned that there was a problem with the electrical system in the the house had a fuse box and the feed line was under the siding rather than in a conduit on the outside of the siding. He offered to have an electrician working out of his warehouse look at it. His crew began began removing sections of the ceilings and walls along the outer sections of the living room and dining room on 9/4/2024. Alvin and the afore mentioned electrician did a walk through of the house with me. I pointed out the limited number of electrical outlets and mentioned that I would like ceiling fans in a couple rooms. They made several additional lighting recommendations. After further discussion I signed a contract to "upgrade electric service" for $12,500.00. After Alvin and the electrician left, I started looking through the trash bags full of dry wall that his crew had brought out and was confused because I found no signs of mold. After the crew left I did a more thorough search through the bags and still found no signs of mold. That evening my husband and I decided that we did not want to replace any lights at that time. I called Alvin and told him we changed our mind about the lights and only wanted upgraded wiring and outlets and switches. When his crew arrived on 9/5/2024, I told them not to do any more cutting of walls or ceiling until after I spoke with Alvin. I called Alvin and told him I saw no signs of mold and did not want any more cutting done. He was insistent that the mold was there, behind the insulation. I relented and had his workers finish removing the sections marked for removal. In the afternoon of 9/5/2024, the electrician and his assistant up graded the outside parts of the electrical system and exchanged the fuse box for a electrical panel with circuit breakers. The morning of 9/6/2024 I had the outlets tested and learned the outlets are grounded and the wiring going from the garage to the house is in good condition. When the electrician arrived I told him we were not going forward as planned and that I had previously told Alvin we wanted no changes to the lighting. I called Alvin and told him about our decision regarding the electrical work and that I did not believe what he was saying about the mold and that I wanted proof. He insisted that if I don't change the house wiring that the house would blow up if I plugged in an air conditioner. That there was no ground and no neutral wiring going to the house. He continued to argue about both. I sent the electrician away and told Alvin I wanted no further work do...

Toxicity and Mold - Removal_________________________WARNING______________________________ If it were possible, I would give this company a -100 rating. Morris Alvin Williams is a fraud. He's well known by the Rhode Island Contractor's Associate which is why he has branched out to Massachusetts. If you are looking for a general contractor or mold remediation specialist, do not do business with anyone by the name of Morris A. Williams, Morry A. Williams, Morris Williams, Alvin Morris Williams, A. Morris Williams, A. M. Williams or any other combination of those names. He prays on people who are dealing with desperate times. We were desperate to treat and remove the toxic black mold that we discovered was in our house as a result of a poorly installed roofing job that was performed in 2013. We identified that there was a mold issue as the result of an air quality test from an independent contractor secondary to multiple hospitalizations of our newborn who was a month old. My wife and I filled out an inquiry for mold abatement and remediation and we were contacted by Morris Williams. He was very charismatic and had availability for the following day to provide an assessment. We asked him if he was licensed and insured and he assured us that he had been in business for 30 years and had 10 licenses and certifications. However, he would not show us a copy of his accreditations (1st red flag). Morris then stated that he would need a $500 deposit in a check made out to Morris Williams (not Morry's Mold Remediation, which was the name of the company earlier this year) to begin treatment two days later (2nd Red Flag). When Morry and his crew did their assessment of the damages, he then told us that he would need $5000 additional dollars via a check made out to Morris Williams again. We did not have the money available due to a newborn, recent holiday expenses, and lost time from work due to numerous medical issues for my wife, both children and myself. We had to borrow from family and Morris was onsite while we were begging with family to assist us with the remediation costs. He appeared to be very sympathetic, however, it was all an act. All things considered, we were emotionally distraught over the health concerns of the family and the necessity to remediate the issue quickly. Morris told us that it would take approximately three days to treat the mold issues and that we would need to vacate the property for the time of abatement and remediation. Morris repeatedly determined additional expenses with each passing day of "treatment." After two weeks of "treatment," and daily requests for additional payments my wife and I finally put the red flags together and had an opportunity to review Morry's Mold Remediation via the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and determined that Morris had a F rating with two complaints for fraud. We then ordered Morris to cease all activity at the home. The next day, his crew was back at the house removing contaminated insulation and throwing it in a dumpst
Paid thousands of dollars for Mold Remediation and abatement. Still don't have my warranty. Demo'd varias places in the house without permits. Paid for work to fix leaked ceiling with insurance check in February. Work still not done. Every floor rentable in my tenement is in some way incomplete. Never followed contracts as agreed to. Went and did bits and pieces of his choosing leaving this whole house unfinished unrentable, with no chance of passing a code enforcement inspection.
Morry and his crew were very prompt and courteous. The remediation, removal of impacted items and painting of the basement were completed quickly. Although I had to discard 99% of the items temporarily stored in my basement (just moved into brand new townhouse!) he was able to give me direction in cleaning/disinfecting and storing a few priceless items that were affected by the mold.
