Mr. Handyman of North Essex County, based at 60 Pine St in Methuen, is a franchise handyman outfit — Angi's page distinguishes it from the separate Mr. Handyman location in Lowell, Andover and Haverhill. The business says it offers free estimates, accepts credit cards, and describes itself as licensed and insured, though no license number appears anywhere on file. The written record is thin and split. In a 2026 review, a homeowner said the crew replaced a broken storm-door handle on time and would hire them again. In a 2021 review, a different customer described calling for a vinyl-siding estimate and being told only once the technician arrived that the first hour would be billed just to walk in the door — something the office hadn't mentioned when booking — and warned others to beware. Two older Angi reviews, from 2010 and 2011, described a $400 job and general handyman work as good, with the company coming back promptly for any redo. Before booking, it's worth asking upfront exactly how estimates and any minimum or first-hour charges work, given the 2021 account.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Mr Handyman. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

Contracted them to replace broken handle on storm dooor on time, friendly and did good job. I would hire them again.
I needed someone to repair my vinyl siding. I called the office to schedule an estimate. The office told me the Tech will give me an estimate and If I agree they can do the work right then and there. Ok, sounds professional. When the Tech arrived, he mentioned how the office probably didn't tell me but....it will cost me the first hour just to walk into the door. What???? I'm assuming if the office was honest and up front to begin with, I'm pretty sure most people would cancel or just hang up. BEWARE!
[Handyman Service, reported job cost $400. The page shows the star rating as 'N/A' and marks 'Yes, I recommend this pro'] good work
[The page shows the star rating as 'N/A' and marks 'Yes, I recommend this pro'] Just very good. Great follow up. Anything that needs to be redone, he comes back right away to do the work.
