Forty-nine written reviews going back to 2013, and the same two notes keep turning up on opposite sides of the ledger: on time, and expensive. This is the Braintree branch of Mr. Handyman covering central-eastern Norfolk County and the South Shore, and what people call it for is breadth — the jobs too small for a specialist and too fiddly to do yourself. In February 2026 reviews, one homeowner had a front door that wouldn't close or lock fixed along with a bent storm-door closer; another had a second-floor handrail that had pulled out of the wall reset sturdier than it had ever been, for a husband who depends on it; a third had curtain rods hung and a gaming chair assembled in the same visit by a technician who vacuumed up afterward. Reach further back and the jobs get bigger: a 2016 reviewer described a front porch that had deteriorated over 35 years rebuilt with as much original wood reused as possible, and a January 2021 customer had both bathrooms updated and then a whole kitchen done by the owner Jim's crew over three years. What stands out across those thirteen years is that individual names recur — Scott, Benny, John, Dave, Rick — and that reviewers credit the office as often as the crew. Angi puts them at 4.7 across 165 ratings, HomeAdvisor at 4.8 across 64, and the BBB grades them A+ as an accredited business. The thing to settle before they roll a truck is the bill. In an August 2024 review, a customer described paying $575 for a single drawer front, handle and set of glides — four and a half hours of clock, a drawer left slightly crooked, side-mount glides where bottom-mount were needed, and a run of emails the office answered sporadically; they had the second drawer done elsewhere for $160. A March 2018 reviewer put it far more mildly: quick and pleasant, but "kind of expensive for amount of time spent." An undated BBB review is headed "EXPENSIVE AND INFLEXIBLE," about an awning-cover installation. None of them question whether the work gets done; all of them question what an hourly clock costs when a job runs long. So: a solid call for a punch list of small repairs, where the value is one competent crew knocking out six things in a single visit. Before booking, ask for a not-to-exceed figure rather than an open hourly rate, settle who buys the parts and whether you will see receipts, and agree up front what happens if the technician has to leave for the hardware store.

Scott was terrific, our front door wouldn't close, or lock, and now it does. Scott was courteous and efficient and got the job done. He also replaced the bent closure mechanism on the storm door. Great job all around!
Showed up on time did a great job very reasonable
Wonderful experience - highly recommend! Robin in the office is prompt, organized, and lovely to speak with. Mr Handyman himself came out to assess the work and quote us, and he made some great value-add suggestions. And last but never least, Scott who did the work not only produced excellebt results but was also on time, efficient, hard-working, kind and patient with our crazy household of kids, pets, and comings and goings. Thank you! Hope to work with you all again soon!

Benny came to hang curtain rods for me, did a great job and then also put my gaming chair together. He was very neat and even vacuumed up after he was done. Excellent experience
