Marc The Handyman is a one-person Cambridge shop run by Marc Hedges, who has been doing small home-repair and installation work since 2012 — Thumbtack lists him with 17 years in the trade, and the Better Business Bureau grades the business A+. What people call him for is the small stuff that's hard to get anyone out for: hanging art and mirrors, mounting TVs, assembling furniture, installing curtains and rods, and quick fixes around the house. Reviews across Google, Thumbtack and Porch describe the same pattern again and again — he shows up close to the time he says he will, often the same day or the next, and gets the job done without drama. A recent review calls the work skilled and neat with clear communication; another from June 2026 describes him giving a 30-minute heads-up before arriving and being good with the homeowner's dog. In a January 2026 review, a customer described a meticulous curtain and rod installation where "every room came out perfect." The written record runs back further than most — in a 2023 review a customer called him "the most incredible handyman," citing his judgment and sense of space, and a 2019 Thumbtack review from a first-time user describes him hanging a large piece of art quickly after she'd been putting the job off. Thumbtack has named him a Top Pro four times (2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021), with its background check on file for Marc Hedges by name. A 2025 Reddit thread recommended him directly, calling him fair on price and friendly across several small jobs — though the same post notes he generally doesn't take on carpentry or electrical work, worth keeping in mind if your project needs either. Before booking, it's worth confirming he's the right fit scope-wise: this is precision small-job work — hanging, mounting, assembly, fixture swaps — rather than larger carpentry or electrical projects.
“Highly recommending Marc Hedges ([google review link / phone number](https://share.google/AGqCzH4ZmVwqON2a5)). We've called him a few times, and he's been great, super fair with price, and very friendly. I think he doesn't do carpentry or electrical work, but we've had him do a bunch of small fixes, repairs, and drilling, and it's all been high quality.”
“If you don't know a wrench from a wire cutter, you'd be wise to keep Marc Hedges in”
Very skilled and neat, great communicator. Highly recommend.
Marc is awesome. He told us he would visit us around 11am and gave us a 30 minute heads up. He was easy to communicate with and showed up on time and fixed up everything. He was even so nice and good with our dog! We would call him back in a heartbeat for future work.
Very meticulous in measuring my curtain installation; windows & length of drapes, and new rods. Every room came out perfect. I was extremely happy with his work and would highly recommend him to anyone.
Marc was the best! He helped us put up our gym mirror on such short notice (literally came 20 minutes after our phone call). I’m so happy with how the mirrors came out and Marc was very professional about the installation.
Marc is highly recommended, he did a wonderful job installing couple of gym mirrors in our study. He was extremely professional and handled the task with great care.
